First off, I really admire how you care for your wife. It is not an easy task.
Also, since you can't gp to church, "pray without ceasing," like the Bible says. You can also read that Bible. I really do think that this can help. I does for me.
Praying for you...

God hears His Word. Speak His Word over your situation. You've been given some verses in these posts, I suggest you write them down and speak them OUT LOUD. Also, never speak negative if you can catch yourself. The Devil thrives on negativity, but he can't read your mind! So if you're thinking negative thoughts, don't speak them. Instead, speak the Truth of the Bible.

Saying a prayer for you and your wife...:prayer:

Thank you everyone for the prayers. I have am trying to set up a time to meet with our pastor right now. This morning I was in the parking lot of the hospital again about to take her in. Instead we went to church (which is a hard choice knowing she could do anything). But she calmed down and is in bed now. I see how God is using this in a number of ways but one thing I hope is for God to remove this thing.

Illnesses like this one only get worse through age. However i am not to woried about her condition as I am about yours. it is during our pain and suffering that our faith is tested, you need to bring youraelf closer to God now more then ever. I am a member of the prayer team and many people here have said they will pray, but if your faith keeps getting weaker and weaker, then there is not much we can do. We need you to believe that our prayers will work. Force yourself to read the Bible. The "enemy" ois using your wife's condition to draw you away from God and from what you said (on the second page) it seems to be working. So, I beg of you to try your best, with every ounce of strength you have, to bring yourself back (closer) to God. Then and only then will our prayers work.

Hi, I'm not wise, n I'm not an "old Christian" but I can tell you that I have depression and PTSD n so does my mom.

N what I can tell you is that when we get to feelin really down we put on Christian music, Praise n Worship music, n that starts a calmin inside.
N even when you don't feel like readin the Bible or talkin to Jesus, when you start listening to the music it makes you feel better n then you feel like talkin to Jesus again, or prayin, n even pickin up a devotion book that has small devotions for each day.
We start small n get it bigger.
It's good to try to make friends here or at church that you can talk to n even your wife can talk to.
There's places here on CF for her illness n she can talk to people when she's feelin bad n then other people can help out so your not wayed down so much
My mom is on here at CF n is sayin she'll be really glad to help n to talk with you or your wife or both.
Her name on here is ~ForHisGlory~
I know sometimes it doesn't seem to feel better when somebody just says they will pray for you.
But sometimes thats all people can do, n it does help a lot, but you do have to believe it.
I pray your pastor can give you some support n can understand what kind of help you need.
Even a little break.
N it's nice that your stayin by your wife when she has these problems cuz some people would run away.
God Bless You n Your Wife n I am prayin to cuz I seen prayer work.
luv Becka

Um...that is what we are doing.

I've been hopitalized many times for depression/anxiety. When people are hurting, you lift them up before the Lord. When strength is sapped, it is our Jesus' strength we need to remind others of.

Evil cannot live where Christ already dwells. Praise be to our Great Protector.
Mental illness is just that, an illness.

Christian music...what a great idea! Wish I had thought of it. :) It has helped me many times, indeed.

Borrow some CDs from your church family if you don't have any.

Music is actualy a bad thing a lot of times. She hears voices sometimes through it and it just isn't good. The meeting with the pastor went well. We will be closer to the church now and start developing friendships. We were actualy invited to the pastors home for dinner.

Today isn't too bad. It seems the more the focus turns to God on my wifes part the better (she sayes she believs these are spiritual attacks because when she is in church she gets to doing better).

some people feel more comforted when they are in church or listening to God's music.

hearing voices must be awful
It's to bad that concentrating on words to music doesn't quiet them or block them out.

thats great that your meeting people at church to

I do think that when people who have illness's get away from church then spiritual attacks can happen to make the illness's act up.
So it's a really great thing to be back in church

We'll keep praying for you and are here for you k?

I was thinking of you and your wife today, too Looksgood. I pray things are going well, and that your church has done a better job of coming to your aid.

So nice to hear your wife feels better in church. Hearing about Jesus helps us all feel better...that's one of the reasons we go, besides praising and worshipping God. :)

God bless!

I'm only 17 myself, but I know what you mean by feeling 'out of touch'. Since I struggle with it myself, I'm not sure what to tell you except what helps me, which is reading the Bible. If I read my Bible for at least 20 minutes even just once or twice a day, it leaves me feeling refreshed and healed, not to mention closer to God.

Maybe it will work for you! I really hope it does.

Here is a responce I have sent in a pm. I wanted to share it here as well.

My wife has a lot of problems. She is bipolar with scitsoeffective disorder (meaning she hears voices.

She is often suicidal and I have on many occations saved her life by wrestling knives away or other things including restraining her from slaming her hear in the wall.

I am getting to a point that I understand she will always suffer this way. We have been married two years and she had this since we started dating. But it has gotten worse.

I have done all I can as far as doctors and even placed her in the hospital many times. Prayer has been requested A LOT and I asked the church elders for prayer as well. Nothing has come of anything in the way of real help.

So I continue doing what I know to do...but at the same time I grow weak myself. I moved us in with her parents because I couldn't take care of her myself and so I have no home of my own. We are going bankrupt because of hospital bills (and yes we also have applied for assistance).

The biggest thing that bothers me is that I never know when I am going to have to wrestle her again for a knife or pick her off the ground when she has a sezuire (she has started having these).

We can't go to church because of her condition and I am so zoned out that I can't even bring myself to read the bible or pray.

Last night I wanted to pray and kneeled down and just sat there. I couldn't speak a word or even focus. I calmed myself knowing that as long as I was there I was in the presance of God.

I feel weak. My relationship with God is not as strong as it has been because I am so occupied with this and many other things. I look for people to befriend in God to lift me up but find none since everyone is busy with there own things.

I am lost, alone, cold, scared, and hungry...all I know to do is keep moving even if I don't know where I am going.
God has a reason for this. You are not alone.
