Great verse.

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God
Micah 6:8

Deuteronomy 9:1 “Hear, O Israel: You are to cross over the Jordan today, and go in to dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourself, cities great and fortified up to heaven,

2 a people great and tall, the descendants of the Anakim, whom you know, and of whom you heard it said, ‘Who can stand before the descendants of Anak?’

3 Therefore understand today that the LORD your God is He who goes over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the LORD has said to you.

Maybe someone is wondering why I chose this verse. With a little understanding of where Israel has come from, and where they are going now, along with a little meditation on it, we'll see it has a lot to say to us today.

This is after 40 years of desert wandering, nomadic living, because of their disobedience and rebellion in not going to the land the Lord had promised them. After that generation had died off, the Lord is now bringing them into the land He had for them - a very, very good land.

They've heard the rumors - "The people are giants over there, we're but grasshoppers in their sight." Rumors do the same thing today, even the ones that are true, for indeed, the people occupying the land were giants. There have been gigantic things I have faced in life too. The key is not to focus on the giants, but on who is going with me. Who was going over before them? Was it not the Lord our God, a consuming fire? Didn't He say He would destroy them? Didn't He tell them to drive them out? Would He tell them to do something they couldn't do? No, of course not. Lol.

This scripture speaks volumes to me for there are giants that stand between us and what the Lord has for us. The giants are usually the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes, or the pride of life. Let's determine not to let anything deter us from what the Lord wills for us - and it is a good land.

For the Lord says, even today, "I give you a future and a hope. I have a plan and purpose for your life that far exceeds the plan you have. So set eyes on Me and upon My Word. Forsake your thoughts, and take hold of My thoughts. Learn to walk in My ways, for they are right and good. When you walk in My ways, forsaking your own, denying yourself, you will too will go up and 'take the land'. You will find the plan I have for you is good, for I, the Lord your God love you with a burning love."

Folks, I had to go with the Spirit of God, and follow Him in this.

The nations have a happy future:

All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, and shall glorify Your name.

For You are great, and do wonderous things;

You alone are God.

Ps 86:9-10

I am the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow
