I'll tell you who I give credence to,and that is the soldiers home on leave that I have heard give testimonies in church, more than ANY media source!

1. I never said 100% of Iraqis want the US to leave.

2. I have no doubt many soldiers have many great stories to share.

3. How do their stories negate the fact that the overwhelming majority of Iraqis want the US to leave?

4. I was in Iraq in 1991 and talked with many Iraqis, does that mean you'll give creedence to me over any media source as well?

well, although this photo and link has nothing to do with the OP, I still went and looked, in fact got the link open right now and am looking at this allegged "proof" it claims.

there is no way to prove what the photos are being claimed to represent. You got a photo of a guy being escorted, the caption claims to say from an airport on a certain day but how do you know? no proof - no airport in the photo background of this guy. only what the site sais. which can be anything it wants it to say.

the other photo shows (and I am looking at it right now)
what may appear to be the same man flashing a "V" or peace sign - the background does not show where and the caption once again is what the site sais it is. which means it can be anywhere or anything the site wants it to be.

I saw the other photo about the overhead photo of the statue prior to it being pulled down. prove to me when and what day it was taken. and not what the site sais it was.

so, the assertions of this being a staged event with the participants being specially flown in, well, thats a load of fertilizer. I had to wear hip waders going thru that link it got so deep.....

anyhooos, back to the OP and topic.

Maybe I'm at an unfair advantage because I remember when this first happened...I believe it was a Russian news source that first released a wide angle pic of the square showing how the tanks and troops provided a safety net for the people to cheer as the statue was coming down.

There are myriad sources available to confirm the story so if people want to find out for themselves they can.

Btw, did it ever occur to anyone that the US does have a history of propaganda regarding Iraq? Got Jessica Lynch? (she had the HONOR to tell the Truth) Got Pat Tillman? Or, about the fact it was revealed the US was paying Iraqi papers to put in false propaganda?

Other than the ground zero frontlines, the media is the most important tool in a war.

Yup, the whole Jessica Lynch/Pat Tillman debacle. What amazes me is that this method works so well. This is why the USA would love to have some controls on the internet.:help:

If america was invaded all Americans woul dhave a duty to keep fighting til every last invader was dead or left the country.
No doubt they would find Americans willing to run their puppet government and alot of Americans unwilling to sacrifice themselves but the true Americans would not stop fighting and would take any action to hamper the invaders at every turn.
Id expect no less from Iraqis. The ones fighting are doing the right thing.

It never ceases to amaze me how some who claim to support our troops the most also say things like this to combat vets, simply out of pure political disagreement.

Sometimes, being pro-Jesus means being anti-US Actions...especially when those actions murder multitudes of innocent people.:(

Sure it doesn't have anything to do with the fact that the US is responsible for more dead Iraqis since 1990 than Saddam in all of his reign?
That is a rediculous comparison. Saddam is responsible for an estimated 1 million dead Iraqis, before and after 1990, while the US is responsible mainly for dead terrorists/insurgents, many of them foreigners. And possibly 2 or 3 hundred innocent bystanders which is normal in any war.

200-300? Are you joking? Did you mean 200,000-300,000?

I will agree that up to 200,000 innocent Iraqis have been killed, but by insurgents and not the US.

:D That is funny. The US is responsible for the resistance to its occupation (read "insurgents"). Without the occupation, there would be no resistance. As far as foreign fighters go, do you mean the 1300 al- qidda fighters in Iraq?
