Ever heard of The Jerusalem Prayer Team? They send out requests of what to pray for in the Holy City.

I have a ring that I wear to remind me of Davids admonition in Psalms 137:5-6

If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its cunning, if I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
This scripture has played a big part in Jewish weddings for a long time. That is the reason the glass is broken at the end of the ceremony. For in times of our greatest joy we must not forget the tragedy of the destruction of the Temple and to pray for Jerusalem.

Here is an excerpt from a recent email request. They have an urgent prayer need right now regarding the Holy City of G-d, Zion, the Apple of His eye, who is set for desecration, on the Anniversary of Kristallnacht, the night of broken windows (of Jewish business' and synogogues) glass.

Calling it an “insult to Holocaust survivors,” Jerusalem councilwoman Mina Fenton has called for the Israeli government to condemn the proposed Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem on November 10. Said Fenton, “Holocaust survivors feel hurt that in the Jewish state in which they live, after the horrors they were subjected to, the city as well as [Krystal Nacht] are being desecrated.” You can read more about this and what can be done here.

She added, “Any day that is chosen to hold the gay parade is a sad day. The first date set for the parade was November 4. How would the secular, atheist public...accept the day marking Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination? I object to the parade…the gay community is intolerant. This is hypocrisy!”

One Orthodox Jew stated, “Rabbis are fearful of another war, so they...protest and act for the preservation of Jerusalem’s sanctity.”

To add insult to injury, an ad is being run in Jerusalem that directs homosexual and bisexual men to “15,000 locations listed where gay and bisexual guys meet...” It goes on to list “gay saunas, gay bathhouses, adult video arcades, adult cinemas, gay nude beaches, and etc.”

Journalist Yitzhak Weiss says that “holding the parade in Jerusalem empties the title 'Holy City of the Jews' of all meaning.”

MOD HAT: This Thread is for informational purposes so we know what is happening in our beloved city Yerushalyim. It is not open for debate and not open to posters not MJ ( torah scroll) or NTMJ ( menorah) or Jewish ( Magen David). Any posts that do not have those icons will be deleted. This is for discussion of this travesty of a city which is dear to our hearts and what this means in the spiritual.

I suspect a petition won't do much good at this point (isn't it like a week and a half away?). However, two things aren't being considered by the parade organizers:

1) The same suicide bombers that hate the Jewish nation aren't too fond of homosexuals.

2) Definitely the biggest problem: God isn't too kind to those who parade their debauchery around His holy city.

The gay community is trying to force society at large to approve of them. Any public word of disapprobation is treated as a "crime"--I call that bullying, yes, when there isn't even freedom of speech on a subject anymore.

If someone truly believes in their choices, they don't need to run around forcing other people to pretend they believe in those choices, too. The fact is, they know what they are doing is wrong, and no matter how many forced, pasty smiles they get from people, it won't change reality.

This event has no business in Jerusalem.

(mods,I hope this post is ok - if not please remove it....)
Yeah I can't figure that one out either..........

I guess I don't get the up roar over this Paul says in 1 Corinthians 5:12 that it's not our business to judge those outside the church............I bet a fair guess would be these people in question are outside the church.
this parade is slated to be held on Kristallnacht and in Jerusalem - both of these acts are a desecration of that which is sacred and holy and is dishonoring to the memory and sacrifice of those Jews who lost their lives in the Holocaust - the way I see it those against this are not "judging" those "outside the church" but rather are stating that those have no place to hold this event in this place or on this day - and I have to agree with the rabbis who say G-d will not hold [and has not held] Israel faultless for these rebellious transgressions - to paraphrase an American Evangelist "If G-d allows these things to go unpunished He is going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrha."

Whilst Israel has been a secular state since it's inception in the last century - it started out holding the things of G-d and those who lived or died to honor Him in high esteem - today these people, and the scriptures that direct them, are more likely to be branded as the cause of Israel's problems - thus you have the secular population turning their head when the observant are targeted by the government and military and voting for those who have no connection to the Land other than it being the place they live.

Today all sense of sacred and divine purpose for the Land is flatly rejected --- until there is a war and then even the secular will be heard saying "G-d will/has always made us victorious" - but the history of recent wars have proven this is no longer true....

The "don't judge those outside the church" has to do with the Beit Din, the house of judgement, not about things that are against scripture. It has to do with legal matters.

You wouldn't take a halacha dispute anywhere else but your beit din and to the sanhedrin... not into outside society...

Vice versa, you don't bring legal disputes with outsiders to the congregational beit din, you take it to your national/city judges.

That's a whole other matter than sodom and gomorrah type actions in the holy city!

When ye see the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place…

My hart is greatly troubled for the people of Judea.
This may not be that of which the prophet spoke, but still how can such a thing not incur wrath?
Can prayer and offerings be enough?
This is very bad.

Apparently, a decision will be made Wednesday on whether or not to cancel the parade (Israel's time zone is GMT +2). Seems right now is a good time to pray about this. ;)
