The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and abounding in mercy and loving-kindness. The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works (Psalm 145:8-9, The Amplified Bible).
Ever since the Garden of Eden, the devil has been devising schemes to separate people from God. The one scheme that seems to have worked the best for him is causing them to doubt God's goodness. He has been using it ever since it succeeded with Adam and Eve.

God had given them everything they needed to live perfectly blessed and prosperous lives. There was only one restriction. The Lord told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, warning them that if they did, they would immediately die.

Satan tempted Eve to violate that one command, saying, "You shall not surely die, for God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:4-5, The Amplified Bible). In other words, "God is trying to deprive you of something. He's not as good as you think."

Eve fell for it, then Adam. By their sin the whole human race was sentenced to spiritual death. The devil has been causing people to doubt the goodness of God ever since.

Religions—even those based on Christianity :( —have portrayed God in ways that are totally contrary to the truths revealed by the Bible. Religious art, for example, often pictures everybody sad. Religious traditions taught by long-faced, angry preachers have represented God as mad at the whole human race and looking for someone to punish. The impression they give is that God is in a bad mood. Someone even wrote a song that threatened, "God's gonna get you for that!"

The Bible does not teach any of those things. It does not reveal a God who is out to "get us" nor do us harm in any way.

God is so good, He always has an open hand to us. He is never tightfisted.

So which is He to you?

A never-knowing-what-His-will is kinda God??

or

The God who loves you enough to want you blessed beyond measure??

What does God's Voice in your heart tell you?

It is our hearts that God dwells inside of, He's there speaking to us
some times He does have to chasten us with Holy-Beatings which are
not nice for the time, but after ward it does yeild the peacable fruits
of righteousness. God teaches you these things, just hear alway His
Voice and you will alway be given His answers to your own questions!

Like you said, "God is so Good" and He is even through it all!!

Sometimes I know God’s will, Sometimes I don’t

Sometimes I know it in one area and not another.

My God is infinitely bigger, greater, more glorious then I can fathom.

He’s too big to fit inside my head

I am eternally grateful that he loves me, that he bought me back through Jesus his Son

I am thankful that He filled me and my wife with the Holy Spirit. That we walk together as one.

I am grateful for the character born from adversity and infirmity that HE has built in my life.

It is well with my soul!

Jim, Jim, dear Jim...

This thread is not about sugar daddy's.... it's about our God being a GOOD one.... with GOOD plans for us.... and how people try to disuade others from believing that.

Yes, I believe God is good. But I know that suffering is real, too.

recently I was praying and I was in my mind's eye (or was it the evening news?) glimpses of suffering all around me....

1) People severly injured in accidents, never to walk again.

2) people mourning the death of a loved one, killed at a young age.

3) People facing long sentences in prison.

4) Spouses left without a wife/husband.

5) People laid off from work.

6) People ravaged by deadly diseases.

7) People starving, with nothing to eat.

8) People losing everything is some natural disaster.

9) Multitudes living, as one author put it, "quiet lives of desperation".

Yes, God is good. But when one looks at the world around them and sees so muchhurt, they do tend to wonder. I suppose that is where the doubt and unbelief comes from. I don't "blame" god, but I understand why some people do.

Good point, Mike. One we all have to consider. You will be scolded, misstated, chastised and labeled for saying this but you will not receive an intelligent answer from those who criticize you

Some of the most beautiful, knowledgeable Christians I know have undergone the most suffering-but come out through it stronger then ever. Some of the most shallow, mean-minded Christians I know are rich, healthy, and proud of it, too.

Sorry, it's just what I have observed...

Or lack of reality.

There are Christians who have the unreality view they are using doctrines for their own interests.

Faith as Paul saw it, was a living flaming thing leading to surrender and obedience to the commandments of Christ. Faith in our day often means no more than a meek assent to a doctrine. Paths to Power, 56-57.Faith (A.W. Tozer)

That kind of observant makes a person realized what is really going on in this spiritual world. Observe the certain connection between grace and faith because they who are ‘poor in spirit’ shall have the ‘kingdom of God’. They are as sure to go to heaven, as if they were in heaven already. Those who have proclaimed whatever their agenda is, are the loudest burdend the others with more guilt (sounds like legalism, huh?). And in their zeal to defend what they perceive to be an important doctrine, they have offered no comfort to those who, for whatever reason of whys.
