My husband has been addicted to inappropriate contentography since he was 14. He confessed this to me before we were engaged. He fought this battle and won before we were married or so I thought. It got way worse after we were married and hurt more than I could ever imagine. He lied to me, brought the filth into our house, nearly had an affair, made me feel ugly and worthless, and now, at times, we feel our marriage has been completely destroyed beyond repair. We are both willing to and are working on it though, and that is what matters. http://www.christianforums.com/t241...y-4-months.html

On this forum I have heard from many other woman who are struggling or have struggled with this very issue. There is a book called Every Heart Restored. I have read it (about a year ago) and am reading it again. Yesterday I received, as a gift from my mother in law, the workbook that goes with it. Every Heart Restored directly deals with the wife's pain in the wake of her husbands sexual sin. It outlines a path to healing, tries to give an understanding of what a battle our husband is going through and how we can and are called to by God to help him (loving him selflessly). It also address the issues of rebuilding trust. It is written by the man who wrote every man's battle and his wife. It is very beneficial to see both sides of the struggle represented. In the workbook there is a plan for going through this book as a group study and discussion. I went through the book Every Woman's Battle with a group. Rather than just sitting back and passively reading a book, a group study and discussion greatly enhances the principles taught in a book.

I think everyone will agree with me on this, in dealing with such a private issue, it would be really hard to find or start a group discussion on this matter in public (in the church I and my husband have attended for years). It could possibly be very humiliating, although very humbling, for both me and my husband. I know that is why I first found this forum and posted here. I felt I had no one I could talk to about this or nobody who could truly understand. I longed to find fellowship and prayer, but, sadly, I felt I could not seek nor ask for it at my church. I am so blessed to have found this web site.

If you are interested in purchasing these two books (Every Heart Restored and the accompanying workbook) http://www.christianbook.com/Christ...CN&item_code=WW and joining in a weekly study and group discussion on this forum please let me know. The workbook has a plan for either an eight week track or a twelve week track. Just let me know your name, a brief testimony, when you would be able to get started, and which plan you would prefer (8 or 12 week).

God Bless you all,

-Valerie

I'm interested in this group. My husband has been struggling with this on and off for a long time. It's not easy talking to anyone about it and having a group discussion with others in the same situation would really help a lot. Either plan would work for me and when to start would just depend on how many can join on this. Maybe start in a month so I can purchase the book and workbook. Or we can start later, just depending on what everyone might want.

Well, lovieslady, so far it looks like just you and me. waiting two or three more weeks is probably a good idea. Hopefully other women who might be interested will find this. I can't think of anywhere else to post it that it would be relevant. The only other thing I could think of is posting in the men's forum for those struggling with inappropriate contentography and ask them to ask their wives if they are married. Perhaps this is inappropriate though, I don't really know.
