I am struggling on whether or not to post this but ...here goes.

I used to come to the Edification section every day, everytime I logged into CF. I would get so much out of reading peoples testiomonies, hearing their questions, helping them with problems...

Now it seems that whenever I check out new threads there are tons of these long, 'loudly fonted' cut and paste jobs taken from other websites. I come to CF to talk to people, real people. While I understand that the cut and paste ministry is helpful to some, I find it to be impersonal and superficial fellowship. It's come to the point where when I open one of those threads, I just back out and don't even read it.

I don't understand it. There are many people in the Edification Forums asking questions similar to the c&p subject matter, why can't the poster simply respond (with honest to goodness real, from the heart and mind typing) instead? Biblical understanding is powerful, but if it's just spat out, how much of it sticks?

Again, the advice and messages found within these forums are great, I just wish the C&P type threads could have their own section or subsection. That way people looking for such advice could go seek it, perhaps before asking a question through the forum.

Am I making sense?

yeah, but at the same time, quoting is powerful and can be good and we need it. though yeah it can be impersonal and seems alot like spamming at times.

but we need to be honest when we dont know something ourselves, and if you can quote a person who does, then do it, and dont try to wing it.
and if you do say something that you actually were told by another person, you need to say that you are quoting and not take the credit for that awesome statement.

but yeah i get ya, theres a relationship kind of thing that is special, that cant really be found in a quotation sometimes.
