Both types I love! I had a Monk Parakeet for many, many years and have always wanted a CAG!jayem said:A Quaker parakeet and an African grey parrot.
The grey has about a 100 word vocabulary, talks in my wife's and my voice, and imitates the Quaker perfectly. She's really pretty amazing.
They also make great snake food!indigo tree said:I have one rat, discluding the one that belongs to my sister.
Despite what most people think, rats make excellent pets, and are the best small animal you can keep.
Awesome! I always forget to mention I have a mexican redknee tarantula. As I've had her for 9 years its pretty safe to say its a female. I have to say, when I first got her I was terrified, but she is very calm and not a flicker, so things relaxed over time. I think in the beginning I scared her more than she scared me. I was bitten twice when I first got her, but I am positive it was due to my being scared and jumpy.Dewjunkie said:We have a young Sonoran Wolf Spider, a Giant Desert Hairy Scorpion (about 4 1/2 inches right now, should get to about 7 or so), and a small high desert brown lizard.
Yeah, odd pets, but easily maintained, and our daughter is enthralled by them. My wife is a teacher, and she keeps them in her classroom during the school year, and the kids love them.
And if you've never watched a spider catch a moth without using a web, you are missing out on something very cool.
