Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

Why does God need to seek after His sheep? Doesn't He know where it is? The reason I say this is because you got the wrong idea of what God seeking His sheep means. That is why I can't answer you with "yes" or "no".

Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

God does not use His raw power to find a sheep. If He did all would be found. The way God seeks the lost is by calling on them. If they respond they are found, if not they stay lost. So it's not a question of God's omnipotence, but a question of the person's response. And no it's not blasphemy.

Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

You bring up an important thing about the parables Luke 15:1-7 and Matthew 18:12-14. They are parables about sheep and shepherd and should probably not be understood to explain whether God always finds a person who strayed or not. The parables are about the joy of finding the lost, not about if...

I think it means what it literally says. If God finds that lost person there will be great joy. "If" means it doesn't always come to pass. That is one reason the joy is so great when the person is found. A question one might ask is in what way does God seek the lost.

I will just tell what the parable says. If the man searching for his sheep finds it, there will be great joy. What does it tell you?

Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

Why do you think Matt 18 says "if". “What do you think? If any man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go and search for the one that is straying? If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it...

The mind set on the flesh

I like to say one more things concerning this. Maybe it's true there are only two degrees of punishment in the afterlife, but would you say Noah getting drunk was equally offensive to God as David taking Bathsheba from her husband? David was punished severely, not so Noah. Why if it was equally...

The mind set on the flesh

There were many people listening, not just Pharisees. The Pharisees thought salvation was all about doing religious acts and keeping religious laws and Jesus shows what salvation is really about: repentance, forgiveness and a restored relationship with God. I can't see how this can be about...

Does man naturally have ability to Seek God ?

I don't think the Bible tells us why som seek God and others not. Each person is different and live different lives. We don't know why some are convicted and seek God, while others aren't. There are probably hundreds of different factors in play. One reason I can come to think of is some people...

The mind set on the flesh

The son had no longer any inheritance so legally he was no son. What matters is our legal status not our biological status. That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are regarded as descendants. — Romans 9:8 We simply don't agree. You...

The mind set on the flesh

Paul's focus in these passages is on the transformative effects of being reborn by the Spirit rather than the specific process of how one is reborn. So there is no need for Paul to tell these Christians they first humbled themselves. He wants to highlight what a grace and gift it is to be...

The mind set on the flesh

"Won't" is more correct. By raw power of course God could save whoever, whenever He wants. However God has chosen to save those who come humbled to Him. Also God works in the process of humbling, so He is not just leaving creation by themself to find their own way to Him. Here it's a bit...
