why do so many christians think being gay is a sin?

I don't think that quoting Scripture about homosexuality being deprave is prejudice or bigotry. There is nothing wrong with saying that homosexuality is wrong: that doesn't mean that we (fundamentalists) hate gay people, but if we show Scriptures that clearly state homosexuality is immoral...

why do so many christians think being gay is a sin?

The reason that I believe that homosexuality is a sin is that the Bible explicitly states that it is. Being gay is listed as an "abominable" sin in Leviticus as well as two passages in the New Testament. I have heard some try to work their way around the passage in Leviticus, and I believe it...

    St. Theophilus and Us

Good observations Cajun! I've been noticing that as we embrace a Biblical worldview, our culture probably considers us about as appealing as a fire breathing dragon. If you want to see a very "interesting" discussion on Christians and gay marriage, be sure to check out the liberal christians...

'I don’t care how strong your religion is, or how strong your church life is, I don’t care how strong your morality is. On that day of judgment God will tear it down and it will wilt. Whenever humans declare themselves to be righteous they are doing it by contrasting themselves with other humans...

A question concerning books, answers appreciated greatly!

Hello reformers!! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion on books that concern the formation of the Bible. I mean how it was formed, who put it together, who wrote the books within, and what parts of the Church were assigned to determine what was and wasn't cannon. I would appreciate...

    Works based Salvation

I really loved the last part of your post Deacon. Thats exactly what I was trying to say in my last post, that we are saved by faith in the work of Jesus Christ, but true faith shows through in works. Salvation is by grace alone, the grace of God through the atoning sacrifice of Christ.

    Works based Salvation

I know we are saved by faith, and by God's grace alone. But from my understand of the book of James, faith without works is dead. From what I know, a true believer displays the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5) as evidence of a saving faith. The fruits are simply an evidence of a living...
