  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    To Whom Do Christians Pray?

i take it a lot of people members here are of mainline denominations? maybe my experience was atypical but I spent years in a fairly 'routine' SBC church, then years in a "novel" Baptist church, Years in a WOF church, years in a "very-conservative but doctrinally non-cessationist evangelical...

    open theism

Did I understand correctly [when I joined] that this topic was "taboo" on this forum, and that we who seek to understand whether or not our view of scripture fits somehow into Open Theism are not welcome on this forum? Similarly, are we who do not fit neatly into Arminian or Calvinist camps are...

I think I Enoch should have been canonized

Have you read I Enoch? The book has always had a powerful, uplifting impact on me when I have read it. It was in broad circulation in the time of Jesus and regarded as "important". In those days, not even the Old Testament was fully 'codified"... that came much later [the Jewish version I...

    Will everyone be saved...

The Grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to ALL men. [Titus] God is not willing for any, not even one, to perish. It is clear what God's will is. Painfully clear. It is clear that the way has been paid for, if you will, for every single human to enter into fellowship with the God...

    To Whom Do Christians Pray?

But you do see that Jesus instructed us to pray directly to the Father, and that is the model, if there is one, that we see in the NT.... right?

Israel, Hagee and Lying Wonders, Strong Delusion

Micahyah and others I know its a taboo topic on this forum, but one of the most important issues facing all christians is the ongoing discussion [among our theologians, pastors, seminaries, you name it] Calvinism & the "Settled View" vs. "Open View" vs "Arminian" vs. UnNamed... and I think...

    To Whom Do Christians Pray?

Friends Jesus seems to have instructed us to Believe in [trust in, look to, etc] our Father... His Father, for our life and salvation. He instructed His followers to pray to the Father, directly [in the long discourse passion week discourse, Gospel according to John]. Yet I hear, I bet you...

    On 'accepting' Christ?

Friends I think it useful for all of us to examine, at regular intervals, just what we think we mean by "salvation" or "born again" or "christian".... etc label du jour. Did Jesus the Messiah ask folks to "accept me" ? Did Paul tell the Jailer, "accept Christ and all will be well" ? These...

What the Trinity says about God, Holy Spirit, angels and man

I guess others have said.... the Holy Spirit is not an "it", so no answers to the poll. Lets grasp a biblical description of Him and go from there. Without Him, we're toast. z

    The Rapture

Now that is really :P funny. A contrare.... the more I read and believe and trust the scriptures, the more questions I have, about this and every other pop doctrine. Scoot, the questions you raise have, of course, been beat to death here and in a thousand other blogs, forums, sermons, books...

Is God "Done" with the Jew? No prophecy left?

Friends This is a serious issue that I would appreciate some thoughtful, well-grounded responses to. Opinions don't carry much clout but scriptural revelation do! I have been in quite a funk lately after hearing, multiple times in recent days, "authoritative" evangelical voices marking their...

Are We to Repent Every Minuet Of The Day Please Read

LFox you raise a good question that has been struggled with for 20 centuries. There is no easy, glib answer except ones that make one feel better, temporarily, perhaps without adequate scriptural authority. Liturgical traditions tend to rely on the legacy of their saints, fathers, and...

Can anyone recommend some Eschatology books?

+1 vote for Rosenthal's book. It is pretty dry, and pretty dense, but it does cover a lot of territory authoritatively IMHO. But DON'T tell Hank Hannegraaff you are reading it.... A couple of books that are very helpful but obscure and hard to find is the late Dale Moody's "The Parousia of...
