  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    What denomination am I actually?

Христос возрос, мой брат! :) Yes, under the Tsars, the ROC persecuted them and the Jews before the communists took power. The commies were "equal opportunity oppressors" and...

    What denomination am I actually?

We have attended Slavic Baptist churches on occasion. They are truly precious brethren in the Lord who have suffered brutal persecution in modern times. I think they may be related to the German Baptist Brethren, which is an Anabaptist group. They will be celebrating...

    Sola Scriptura and Tradition

Thank you, and I consider the Catholic brethren who love Jesus to be fellow Christians as well. However, I have been confronted with "No Salvation Outside the RCC" from time to time, and I wonder what those folks would have done to the likes of me just 300 or 400 years ago.

    Sola Scriptura and Tradition

The answer is in your question, if you look for it. Hint: Who or what is "the church"? If you want to rely on traditions, have at it. If you want to condemn me and those like me who eschew tradition where it conflicts with scripture, go for it. Just don't try to come and burn me at the...

    Sola Scriptura and Tradition

These scriptures were not taken in a vacuum. Please read the entire context from which they were drawn. The context supports the sense of the verse. The words of Jesus in Matthew 23:8-10 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no...

    Sola Scriptura and Tradition

I'm a Tradition 0 adherent. Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 1st John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but...

Is this Jesus or a Mad man?

No need to watch it. I can tell you for sure, that he's not the Jesus of the Bible, the One we're expecting to come at the end of the age.

Pat Robertson - OK to divorce your spouse who has Alzheimers.

This is a straw man argument. But to entertain your straw man, I would say that you do not need to stay with the abusive spouse. However, you are not free to divorce. Here is the standard marriage vow. Pat probably made this same promise to his wife before God. "In the presence of God and...

I have a question about Baptists.

One more thing, Amanda. We are not saved by works. From the book of Ephesians (new testament) Chapter 2, verses 8, 9, and 10. 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10 For we are...

I have a question about Baptists.

    > 1) Are all or most Baptist like the westboro? Every Baptist I know is embarrassed by Westboro and soundly condemns their behavior. I teach my children that when people look at us, they should see us looking up to Christ, and not looking down on anybody. > 2) Do all or most Baptist...

Is contemporary christian music "conforming to the world"

Much of CCM is unintelligible to me. I see a lot of folks here talking about the lyrics, but I cannot understand them. All I can hear is what sounds like Rock or Hip Hop or some other beat music. I can probably only understand one in three of the words. Having said that, I am a musician...

    Unequally Yolked

Psalms 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! :) Blessings to you, my brother. The "public school" has become the Bus Ministry of the State Church of Humanism. The "School District" is better understood by the name Karl Marx gave it...

Is discipleship a requirement for salvation?

Praise the Lord. How good it is to dwell with brethren in peace.

    Unequally Yolked

    > How did "unequally yolked" How did "unequally yolked" become a thread about > masturbation? I think we digressed because there are brothers and sisters in the Lord who do not know that sex outside of marriage is fornication and that fornication includes masturbation. Sanger and Kinsey and...

    Unequally Yolked

    > if you consider such things as self gratification as fornication, woud you consider it > reason for divorce? While there are few that would consider such to be grounds for divorce, and fewer still that would actually exercise the option, given the definition of fornication, I would...
