  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Husband showing spiritual leadership in the home

This was us and the only advice I have is to pray about it and be doing those things on your own, inviting your husband to join you and occasionally asking if there is a church/event he'd like to visit, always in an encouraging way, never in a passive aggressive "theres only 1 right answer here"...

Husband showing spiritual leadership in the home

We both used to feel very awkward praying out loud together (or at all) and I think the fact that it is something we grew in together makes it that much more intimate for us.

    Life Insurance

I agree... Term isn't meant to be an investment. If you look at it that way, all insurance is a poor investment! That's not its purpose. We are able to get a pretty large amount of coverage (for us) for really cheap, too, through the military. I hope it DOES end up being a "waste of money" but...

Husband showing spiritual leadership in the home

It is definitely appreciated and something I very much long for when he is gone or not as active in those ways. It's interesting that you mention leading the reconciliation process because I never really thought of that as leadership but I get your point for sure. Gives me something to think...

    Korean food and your marriage

I am eager to try Korean food now though a little nervous about how authentic it will be in my area... It might be better saved until a trip to a bigger city! We do have a couple of excellent sushi joints around though, which my husband and I enjoy together.

I need to fix ME but I don't know how.

I am guilty of this type of behavior as well even though, like you, I *know* better. It looks like you have gotten a lot of great advice but I wanted to mention a resource I gi.d helpful.. I'm not sure if I can post links but search for " 30-Day Husband Encouragement Challenge" on a site called...

Coming to terms with "Men are Visual"

That means SO much to me. You are so sweet! Yep! I missed your point but I get you and I definitely agree. Taking the time to take care of ourselves is important, because we're worth it! I hope your daughter feels better soon, for both your sake. :)

Coming to terms with "Men are Visual"

I know what you mean, FaithPrevails, and I agree! It does help. I said it's not enough to be attractive to my husband, but I definitely don't think it's unimportant. I just need to focus on having a more stable, solid self worth and more faith in him that when he is feeling "off" I don't take it...

    Is astral projection a sin?

Why do you do this? What is your goal? I think the answers to those questions will help you decide whether it's a sinful habit or not. If you are doing it to connect with the dead, it is sinful: There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone...

Coming to terms with "Men are Visual"

Yes, Dallas. Obviously I don't want him to be lusting after other women no matter what, but I think the bigger problem was feeling kind of worthless. Being attractive to my husband isn't enough. Lots of people can do that. I feel better when I know that I'm appreciated and loved for who I AM...

    Who has the harder job?

Exactly! It totally depends. Right now I would say without any hesitation that my husband has it harder. There have definitely been times when my job was harder, but with the job my husband has now there's no question. Of course, I thanked him a couple weeks ago for working so hard and he looked...
