  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Curiosity...

Hey, I'm also wondering...What does the Eastern Orthodox church in these matters?

Guys, when do you find a girl most attractive?

Why the sad face? There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. You should care about your body and appearance too.

    blasphemy of the Holy Spirit

It shouldn't be taken literally. That same verse says that you can rebuke Jesus and be forgiven, but people don't interpret that literally. If you don't want to be saved then you won't be saved. That is refusing the Spirit. God has given us the gift of forgiveness, but it's up to us to...

Guys, when do you find a girl most attractive?

Hmm contrary to what others are saying here...I like it when girls dress up. Well, maybe it's because I like to dress up too ;-). It's all about how a girl carries herself, and looks are definitely a part of it. But only the first part. It's nice to see girls smile, be polite to others, have...

    Help...how do you know...

How do you know if you're growing up to be a good person? I know that's incredibly vague and direct, but it's something I've been worrying a bit over. I just don't know what to do or how to act in this young adult time, and what I can do to help me continue to grow into a better person. I...

whats the diffrence between sunnis and shiites?

Hezbolla = Shiite Iran = Shiite Saudi Arabia = Sunni Bin Laden and Al Qaeda = Sunni Saddam = Sunni Iraq = Shiite majory, Sunni minority One reason Iraq is very contentious is because the Shiites and Sunni violence. Saudi Arabia today said it would support the Sunni minority in Iraq if the US...

    Papal Supremacy?

If all the church was unified, I would not have a problem with infallibility. That is, if there was a disagreement about theology between laity, priests, bishops, and eventually all the way up to the patriarch's, I think the ecumenical patriarch would have the final word, and the truth would be...

St Peter's Basillica - Built with blood money?

Children born out of wedlock are also acquired through sin (and sometimes even deception). That doesn't mean the children are invalid in God's eyes. Sin is an action, not a substance.

    Orthodox Communion

From what I've learned it's not reciprocal. Catholics will allow those from Eastern Orthodoxy (and Oriental Orthodoxy?) to commune under special circumstances. Eastern Orthodoxy will not commune Catholics. If an Eastern Orthodox priest wishes to convert to Catholicism, there is no need for...

Supporting abortion = automatic ex communication

Cool. I'm just saying that if conception is defined as human, that will change the way the census, death rates, and other civil issues are dealt with. To date, most civil matters haven't considered it this way. I think I'm done with this thread. Cheers.

Supporting abortion = automatic ex communication

I'm not debating the Catholic position. I fully know what your catechism says about abortion, and I'd be out of place to challenge your beliefs in any way here. However, I'm trying to explain how others can view certain actions that are a result of the Catholic faith, for example, in laws and...

Supporting abortion = automatic ex communication

Thank you Michelle. I'm not really trying to blur lines, but more hypothesizing how others could view your belief. If the constitution was written to protect life, which is more vague than protections for human life, and hindus for whatever reason became a majority in this country, hindu...

    Another Koran-kissing moment... (Sigh)

Muslims don't pray to the East unless Mecca is to the East.
