  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

At What Point Does One "Shake the Dust From Your Sandals"?

No doubt. I know my patience and temper have eroded. I feel more like the man in the debt parable. Every time I'm about to lose my cool with the nonsense this society generates I get a stern look and a presentation of my tab.

At What Point Does One "Shake the Dust From Your Sandals"?

The Bible says that there does come a time when one should “shake the dust from their sandals” and forego any further efforts of ministry. I was wondering when one considers this time should be. When I was a kid I used to be fairly nonjudgmental, to the point of questioning whether God was...

Wish we had an edit function. Most Christians don't LIVE without questioning themselves.

    Wavering believer here

Hello friend. No you aren't living a lie. Few Christians love without questioning themselves. I too don't have that deep spiritual friendship that I would like to have. These things aren't unusual. You don't need to start over. The Christian walk isn't Chutes and Ladders. I can't give you...

Why I Think Christmas is Not Biblical (Please read OP before posting).

God bless you too. I'll say a prayer you don't trip over your tassels. ;)

Why I Think Christmas is Not Biblical (Please read OP before posting).

A question for the date crowd. I have heard the "Christmas is pagan because a pagan holiday is on December 25th. Quick question. I was born on April 30. Hitler killed himself on April 30. Washington was inaugurated president on April 30th. Many historical events happened on April 30. Now...

It's not worldy for me. I'll keep celebrating.

Why I Think Christmas is Not Biblical (Please read OP before posting).

I plan to keep celebrating Christmas. There is no scriptural prohibition against having fun, giving gifts, or spreading good cheer. That there is no mention of ancient Christians celebrating it is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned. For me it is spiritually uplifting to celebrate the birth...

Our Hands Are Stained with Blood

Concerning the opening post - I tend to be instantly suspicious of the concept of blood guilt. To that end I do not hold the crucifixion of Jesus against modern Jews. I also do not feel any sense of shame over their persecution in the middle ages. I hold neither grudge nor apology for events...

    British Gov euthanize brain-dead baby(RIP)

In America it is illegal for hospitals to refuse treatment. That is not to say the American system is without flaw. But our flaw is that without insurance you are billed personally for care (often exorbitantly), not that you don't get it at all. In this case I feel I must respectfully agree...

    British Gov euthanize brain-dead baby(RIP)

Courts are legal experts, not medical experts. The medical experts in Italy wanted to have a go. This question I will maintain: why not? Expenses were covered. At best you save the child. At worst the parents get closure. I simply see no reason to not take a decision that comes with no...

    British Gov euthanize brain-dead baby(RIP)

I find myself in disagreement with the hospital as well. The child was in a vegetative state and likely to die however when you have other hospitals lining up to take a crack at his condition there is simply no legitimate reason to say no. If the child is indeed already gone then he will...

Can We Agree as Christians to not Hate Each Other?

I came here as kind of a refugee from hostile political debate forums and poked my nose in here to see what feels like a near equal level of hostility. I thought I might add a few cents. First: I did vote for Trump. I don't agree with everything he does. Some matters I strongly disagree...
