  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Colorado River, a lifeline for seven states, is drying up at its source

You can't extract what isn't there. At 50% humidity (ETA: at 20°C) (I searched "water per volume of air for a given humidity") there is less than 9 g/m³. That means it would take around 111 cubic meters to get a single liter of water (if you could get all of it). This means that it would take...

    Air Force One Issues

L3/L3Harris has a long history with AF1. (Source: me, I used to work for L3.) Bidding wouldn't be the issue. The issue would be nonsense time-constraints.

    Air Force One Issues

Yes, that too. My wife suggested that the new one might be full of bugs...but it would a pretty poor defense contractor that didn't sweep for such things.

Did you mean more secure? The old AFO has a lot of tech ... that can not be instantiated on the new one in just one year.

    USA World Cup team

A rhetorical question, I take it.

    USA World Cup team

I don't think anyone would fault the US team from playing the hand they were dealt. However, I think if we didn't play Balogun*, the team, win or lose, would come out smelling likes roses. Despite our president, our citizens would be seen as honorable. *ETA: noting the exception @Pommer...

    USA World Cup team

I wonder if the US team could, as a matter of honor, refuse to field that player. Regardless of FIFA and the president, the team comes out looking honorable.
