    In terms of Air Force One, this is patently ridiculous. To build out that plane with AF 1 technology, they will have to take it entirely apart and rebuild it. It's a stupid idea. (Now, if he just wants a plane for his private life ... well, it's *merely* unethical.)

    I get what you are saying. And, I suspect that "30 cubits could compass it about" is just an expression. BUT, if they actually measured it, surely they would have noticed an ~20 in deficit in the rope.

    Indeed. The Bible could have had "perfect" communication on this score by simply eliminating one of the dimensions. E.g., it was 10 cubits across OR it was 30 cubits around. Thus, no pi could be inferred. Too, it could have said it was 10 cubits across and a cord of 30 cubits could NOT compass...
