  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why is Contraception Considered Morally Acceptable?

I'm sorry, but that doesn't support your assertation. Nothing about that says that sex is for procreation only, and if you think it does, you're heavily reading your own bias into it. It only says that it's moral to fulfill those desires within the bounds of marriage. I see nothing that says...

Why is Contraception Considered Morally Acceptable?

I think you hit the nail on the head, Nicholas. Any barrier method is the same as NFP. You are still preventing pregnancy. It really does become a question about the purpose of sex. I wonder if knowing that any pregnancies I concieve will also likely die (there is no medical cause determined as...

Why is Contraception Considered Morally Acceptable?

I am non-religious and haven't posted here in years, but caught this in my inbox. Any thoughts on the ethics of procreation when it may not be in the best interest of existing children? If, say, a parent is mentally or physically ill and adding another child would severely disrupt family life...

    Help . . . ? At a loss here. Maybe somebody with a teenager, haha . . .

I'm pretty long-winded, I'll try and keep my explanation short and get to the question part. :) On November 1st my husband and I drove to Arkansas from Ohio to pick up my cousin. She is 18. She was in an abusive relationship and after much persuasion, agreed to leave the guy and come stay with...

Really odd question about Bibles . . .

Thanks for your replies, everyone. :) Most people I know say that burning it seems like the right choice, but I also like recycling and burying. I know the paper and ink isn't what's most important, but I just didn't want to be disrespectful either. :) My husband had to burn one on a cold...

Really odd question about Bibles . . .

Okay, folks, I know this is going to be a weird one. Here's the thing. My husband and I rescue dogs and cats. We took in a kitten who got into the box where I kept two of my old Bibles . . . it was tucked away where we didn't think he could get, so we didn't notice at first - but he peed all...

    TTCers Unite! ~a place to chat~ (2)

My cycles are usually 26 days long. I have had up to a 30 day but that is very, very rare. It generally sticks between 26-28, if it does fluctuate at all.

    Two requests . . .

Thank you all again! Jordan did not end up getting to go yesterday (the winds were too strong) and may go Thursday or some time next week, so please continue to remember him. And the situation surrounding my unspoken request is getting so much better every day. It's a spiritual battle I'm...

    Two requests . . .

The first one is an unspoken, but it is huge in my life right now and I just need some prayers for strength and faith. The second one is that my husband is going HANGGLIDING on Monday - yes, crazy enough to jump off a mountain attatched to a huge kite - and so naturally I would really...

Have you ever noticed the number of GUESTS on CF?

LOL - I was just thinking about this a few minutes ago! I'm always signed in; I guess I just don't worry about people seeing me on certain threads. I think most people realize that just because you're reading a certain thing doesn't mean YOU are struggling with it, and perhaps you're just there...

Punks in the Church....what are you're thoughts?

I'm sure you could find plenty of stories where people use their religiously-themed tattoos to share their faith with other people. It definitely opens up a line of communication with a subculture that isn't so welcoming to shouting on the streets, tracts, and flyers. People will ask about your...

Punks in the Church....what are you're thoughts?

Exodus and Deuteronomy are the old Law, which died with Christ on the cross. Piercing and tattooing today, when done correctly, and taken care of, is no more of a risk than getting a paper cut.

:D Go for it. Just don't go to a crappy artist like I did!
