  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    electronic music

I like some electronic music. If there is a Christian alternative to like say a Crystal Method, I would buy it. The only stuff close to it that I do have is more Industrial/Metal like Celldweller/Circle of Dust/Brainchild and Argyle Park/AP2, Klank etc. I will have to check Wumpscut though. I...

Why is there a secular music part to a Christian site?

This was my point exactly. I did not say evryone was reacting to the U2 element of the argument, but clearly there is alot of overreacting hostile U2 lovers here. LOL

    Marilyn Manson

I have a little experience with musicians but my brother has done alot shoulder-rubbing with some members of prominent bands. More than a few of which have had experiences with MM either in the studio's or private functions where he had no reason to perpetuate his stage image. If you ask those...

    Medicinal Marijuana

I agree. My only reservation stems from the fact that the majority of people in my state that have legal access to this drug are abusing it by manipulating the system by way of exagerrating their symptoms or whatever it takes to get that little card that says they can be a pothead all day...

Thats funny cause I've heard similar stories about him, and also others like him. The guy definitely has some demons.

Why is there a secular music part to a Christian site?

How many times has any Christian here been mis-lead or simply wrong about something in our Theology? I know I have, and I'd be willing to bet all of you have too. Many of you are being too hard on the person who posted this thread. I percieve it to be because of your blind love for U2. They are...

    Medicinal Marijuana

I am against Pot as recreational use for many good reasons. However, my father died of brain cancer in '93. Before he passed he was Ill and was not able to eat. He smoked marijuana in his last few months and it helped considerably to ease his wimpy stomach and give him an appetite and to make...

    Frank Zappa

I agree. He did have some good points. A little side note of interest. My mom and dad were taking it easy one day in the late '60s and my mom noticed out the window that this guy was doing " a lewd thing" in public. Well they call the police and the officer wanted a description of the guy...

Why is there a secular music part to a Christian site?

While the vast majority of the music I listen to is Christian, there is a small percentage of secular bands in my collection. Please explain where in the bible it says I am wrong.

    Frank Zappa

He was a piercing critique of popular culture. Almost everything I ever heard by him was a cynical essay on the cliche thoughtless social atmosphere of the time. Which in retrospect was not a bad thing.

    Metal..

I was channel surfing last weekend and saw a show on i think MTV2. It was all about moshing, where it came from and where it is now. The show actually cleared up some of my genre confusion also. It started in Cali as slam dancing and was strictly Punk. This I remember. Then it branched out when...

    Any Gwar fans?

I thoroughly enjoyed "Scumdogs of the Universe". While they are a gimmick band, they really did have talent. Most of their stuff after that album did nothing for me, the style changed too drastically for me. I would never see them in concert, my brothers did though, and they needed a change of...
