  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Best Video To Send To Non-Believers On Morality

I did respond and please take what I said to heart and think about it. It's not something I usually tell others but I am 99 percent sure of what's coming and I mean it's imminent.

Best Video To Send To Non-Believers On Morality

Hi Ana, Can you give me an example of a self-refuting axiom. It may be the case that we have a different understanding of what an axiom is. I hold that true axiomatic statements are conceptually irreducible, and identify a fundamental primary fact.

A chalange to belivers in Evolution

Your first point is spot on. Creationism is guilty of equivocation. We Objectivists would call it package dealing. A package deal is when two disparate ideas are packaged together in the same concept. I challenge every creationist on this forum and in the world to present evidence that...

How do you justify moral actions?

Can I get an atheist amen? On a side note, That woman's children will not die from climate change. The single greatest threat to the world, more dangerous than nuclear war, more dangerous than covid, far more dangerous than any other threat that we face other than a large asteroid strike, is...

lime, linden, basswood - which words have you used for this tree?

I've used all three. I use Linden when referring to the tree and basswood when referring to the wood. I use it sometimes to make shavings for packing material in my packages. It smells nice and lemony to me. I also use Butternut and Aspen. Aspen grows all around me and there are plenty of...

How do you justify moral actions?

If it's all an illusion, there's nothing that is right or wrong. Those concepts presuppose the primacy of the object.

How do you justify moral actions?

You do so by affirming the primacy of consciousness. Christianity explicitly affirms the primacy of consciousness and in doing so it performatively affirms the primacy of existence. It's a contradiction at the beginning of knowledge. Most Christians and people for that matter don't know that...

How do you justify moral actions?

I said or anyone who denies a basic axiom. You deny the axiom of the primacy of existence.

How do you justify moral actions?

Yeah, I don't hold discussions with solipsists, anal. Phil., Subjectivists, or anyone who denies a basic axiom. There's no point. But I'll leave you with this; you are at least fully consistent as a Christian with your subjectivism. You are the only one I have met that is. So you are the...

How do you justify moral actions?

We don't share it. I live in a different universe than you do, apparently and we have no basis for a discussion. Enjoy your illusory world but I will not interact with you further.

How do you justify moral actions?

I see. Well, that may be true for you but it's not true for me.

How do you justify moral actions?

Uh......No. consciousness is consciousness of something. Are you a solipsist?

How do you justify moral actions?

Morality is a type of knowledge and as such it is contextual. Objective moral principles do not exist in reality apart from the mind and they do not exist in the mind apart from reality. They exist in the relationship between the mind and reality, hence their basis in the primacy of existence...

A chalange to belivers in Evolution

And I can answer your why in every case. Why do populations of living organisms evolve? Because of the interaction between the environment and genetic variation. Why is there genetic variation in populations? Because DNA changes over time and these changes get passed to the next generation...
