  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Tl;dr This is about COVID-19

Is the debate in christian circles simply a matter of weak faith versus strong faith or no faith at all? Personally it does seem much of the thinking of those who oppose vacines justifies lawlessness which is never justified.

    Father doesn't believe

I have come to realise that if we are make a difference in others lives, we have to first and continually seek his kingdom and his righteousness before anything is to come to pass. I can confess to having witnessed that I am continually amazed when I am in Christ things happen and when I am not...

WHY THE LORD'S DAY IS NOT SATURDAY

I have a theory that because Christian worship was so incompatible with Jewish worship they would have been forced out of the synogogs and would have been forced not to do anything that would violate the Jewish concept of the sabbath. Hence the only time permitted to celebrate freely as...

What did Jesus mean when He prayed that we would be one in John 17:21?

Perfection can refer to being perfect for purpose. Hence a rock may prove perfect for hammering in a loose nail in the absence of a hammer. Our faith or imperfection may then be perfect in that it allows God to be gracious and merciful and above all our saviour.

What did Jesus mean when He prayed that we would be one in John 17:21?

It is more important to ask who should you be before you determine where you should go. The church of God is above and beyond the churches of men. That we should strive for truth is essential if we are in fact honest. If we have come to know Christ there can really be no peace in this life...

"Take up your cross" seems an impossible demand

Many today teach DIY self help programs to help people over come many of the problems facing them. Unfortunately much of such teaching tends to degenerate into more works based worship of their own self and will power through which they may boast and through which they in turn may become...

    Assimilate

I for one am tormented daily by the wickedness and lawlessness of mankind on a daily basis as I am continually assalted by new depths of man's depravity. My God knows I am a sinner but I fear the depravity of men knows no bounds. Without a fear of God how low can I also go? (greetings from China)

    My Sin is lust.

We are rightly ashamed of our sins and are so unconcerned with what others do and believe. We even find parents who care so little for their children they abandon them to the leading and teachings of strangers, then they weep and wail when their sons and daughters are crushed in their ignorance...

Why do street preachers use harsh ways to evangelise?

Master,” said John, “we saw someone driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us.” 50“Do not stop him,” Jesus said,“for whoever is not against you is for you.”luke9 15It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill...

    STRUGGLES

Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—to the praise of his glory.” (Ephesians 1:13-14)

    Why aren't we any different?

Surely you do not include yourself in that assessment?

Why do Christians sin so much?

Sin is a uniquely spiritual term used to define the nature of our relationship with God. The man who sees his sin, sees his own unworthiness and falls on his face before God crying out, we are unclean men with unclean lips. The law of sin and death condemn us and all believers must confess all...

Why is God evil and why is there no freedom of choice?

Men create hell on earth and vainly imagine they will not continue to do so in the after life. They then abuse God for giving them such choices? At best we can only call on God to set us free from this bondage of sin and death then and only then will we be free to choose.

    The struggle of a non-Christian

Both the wicked and the righteous suffer and prosper but for different reasons. The only question left to us is for which do you want to be known for?
