  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    New not renewed Covenant

This is an interesting perspective. But it seems the author, or search engine may not have considered a few things, or perhaps maybe I am missing something. If you don't mind, I would like to share a few things my studies has shown. First, Abraham's Children were under God's Promise and...

    Modern Day Antinomianism.

What did I say that you would exclude me from an invitation?

    Modern Day Antinomianism.

Well you seem to "hear". How do you know there isn't someone else who has been pricked in the heart by the difference between what this world's religions promote, and what the Scriptures actually say. I believe these discussions are good to have, even if most just shrug them off.

What does "forsake all" actually mean?

Literal and material are not the same thing, I never said anything about "literal". I am looking for the Truth of the Scriptures here. "Pride" is literal, but not material. I don't believe Jesus advocated that a man married with children forsakes his job, wife and children, gives away his...

What does "forsake all" actually mean?

Luke 14: 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to...

    Wesleyan-Arminian Basics.

I have not adopted the Calvinist/Wesleyan-Armenian, or any other popular religious sect that existed in the world God placed me in, but I think your questions are great, and would like to share my understanding. I hope you don't mind. What a great question. And how important is it to consider...

    Modern Day Antinomianism.

The answer to your question seems simple to me. There is a LAW that says, "The soul that sins shall die". If our sins are taken away, then we are no longer "Under this Law". We have been Delivered "From this Law". It seems foolish to promote the philosophy that we are no longer "under" the...

1 Cor 16:2 can't be made to say "the main worship day for the NT church was always the first day of the week"

This mindset you have, is because you don't believe Jesus or Paul's definition of a "Jew" AKA, "a child of Abraham". If you did, you would know there is neither Jew or Gentile DNA in the Church of God. That God doesn't judge men by the DNA they were born with, rather, the Love, honor and...

1 Cor 16:2 can't be made to say "the main worship day for the NT church was always the first day of the week"

So was Zacharias in Luke 1, and Simeon in Luke 2. So was Caleb in Numbers 14. David was a "Devout Jew". So was Shadrach and Meshack, and Daniel. Abraham was a devout Jew, and Noah. You can find the names of "many", not all devout Jews, in Heb. 11. They all have one thing in Common with Jesus...

1 Cor 16:2 can't be made to say "the main worship day for the NT church was always the first day of the week"

That is just not true Jan001. Just like it isn't true that the Pharisees were trying to get the New Converts to obey the Law of Moses. Jesus forgave the Sins of all His Disciples, and didn't shed the Blood of even ONE Calf or Goat. This is because Jesus was the New Prophesied Priest of God, the...

1 Cor 16:2 can't be made to say "the main worship day for the NT church was always the first day of the week"

"And "hath raised" up an horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David" Luke 2; 25 And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. 26 And it was revealed...

1 Cor 16:2 can't be made to say "the main worship day for the NT church was always the first day of the week"

That is another popular religious philosophy, just as the philosophy that preaches the Pharisees were trying to earn Salvation by keeping the Law of Moses. A lot of people have adopted these doctrines. But they are simply not true, according to the Word's of the Jesus "of the Bible". God...

1 Cor 16:2 can't be made to say "the main worship day for the NT church was always the first day of the week"

Acts 15: 7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them...

1 Cor 16:2 can't be made to say "the main worship day for the NT church was always the first day of the week"

Thank you for answering my question. And it is true that the Pharisees "Said" they were promoting God's Circumcision, God's Commandments, God's statutes and judgments concerning what is food and the purpose of God's Sabbaths. But should a person consider what Jesus said concerning their...

1 Cor 16:2 can't be made to say "the main worship day for the NT church was always the first day of the week"

What a great way to look at this. We have the Oracles of God in our own home, in our own heart, the only thing that matters now is do we "Yield ourselves" to the "Word of God" or not. It is an interesting phenomenon in my view. Every father in the world demands the right, excepts the right...
