  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Water Baptism

I fully agree with your position and I certainly think that baptism is not optional and as an act of consecration it should be undertaken by every believer. My point is that John 3:3-8 has nothing to do with baptism. strongmeat

    was it an apple?

The idea that the fruit was sex and that Cain was born because Eve had sexual relations with Satan is plain heresy. The Bible clearly states in Gen.4:1 " And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD." Nowhere does the Bible refer to...

THE THIRTEEN TRIBES OF ISRAEL (a deeper life message)

Gad is actually mentioned in Num.34, verses 13-15. Joseph's two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh became two tribes. Although Manasseh was the firstborn Jacob in blessing the two sons of Joseph put Ephraim first (see Gen.48:13-20). Sometimes in a listing of the twelve tribes when Levi is included we...

    The seven church ages

Well said. The Lord did not want just the people in the particular church He addressed to hear his words. He wanted and wants anyone who has an ear to hear what the Spirit says to all the churches. Every congregation of Christ today is represented or typified in one or more of the seven churches...

    The seven church ages

The concept of seven church ages is pure speculation. Many who advocate it think we are in the Laodicean age. That would mean that the age before is the Philadelphian age. (One would presume that pre-tribulationists do not believe in seven church ages, since what they say is the promise to be...
