  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Let's Talk About Hell

Good post. Let's talk about hell. It's a hot topic (no pun intended)(srs). Do you believe God sincerely does not want anyone to go to hell? I do. I also believe that God determines likelihood for all humanity. That is to say, we have individual choices, but God writes in his word about few...

    Communication: Who is it for?

My life has left me with the opinion that God's communication is for God, and we are secondary in priority. Whether it is the Bible or a sermon or a Christian speaking truth or whatever, the highest priority is God's Glory. Not clarity, not comprehension, not understanding on our part, but...

Admitting you don't have faith, acquiring faith

I am glad you posted this. I will say this last bit. FRIEND (a friendly friend would say) Hey listen pal, we're all sinners you know. I know you hear that all the time, but it's true. None of us are righteous on our own man. Honestly, I don't know where we ever got the notion that we were...

Admitting you don't have faith, acquiring faith

I am very glad you posted this, because you illustrated beautifully a problem, though I am certain you did not intend to. People who see themselves as righteous are sinning, they are also incorrect (if you believe a bird is a cow, you are incorrect as well). What is their sin? Their sin is...

Admitting you don't have faith, acquiring faith

One of the things I think is sad is how people with low faith or no faith are beat upon so much. It leads people to be reluctant to admit that they don't have faith or don't fully understand what that means in their life for fear of being demonized as an "unbeliever". Frankly, it is quite...

Communication: A great problem in Christianity

Last point: I once felt the Lord tell me "I tried to tell you, but you wouldn't listen!" To this, I have the following questions: - did I even know how to listen? Was it listening audibly or in a different form? Was it through someone else, through a dream, in my spirit? Was it whispered...

Communication: A great problem in Christianity

This is my opinion. I believe that the basis of any relationship is communication. I believe if the communication is great, you have a strong potential for a great relationship. If it is poor, you have a greater likelihood for a poor relationship. And if it is non-existent, you have a great...

Why does God threaten? Why does He pressure and influence our decisions?

Threats are a distraction. Don't believe me? Ok, go up to someone who is about to do their part in a school play and warn them in all seriousness that you WILL BOO and you WILL THROW TOMATOES and you WILL LAUGH AND PUT THEM ON YOUTUBE if they mess up. Especially do this to them if they...

Why does God say He's good, then He does controversial things?

Before he was born, God made a negative prediction over the life of Judas. During his discipleship, Jesus sometimes addressed Judas indirectly (namely when telling Peter he was clean). If we are to believe the Bible, then we are to believe that God loved Judas. So God loves a man whom God...

What do you do when the actions of God seem erratic?

I think I know where you are going with this. In honesty, God did strive to emphasize that it's about Grace and God LOVES you. But do you know how I know that my mom loves me? She gives me a warm hug and a kiss. She speaks kindly to me. She doesn't use sarcasm or provocative speaking even...

What do you do when the actions of God seem erratic?

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” -2 Timothy 1:7 KJV "IF we are faithless, he will remain faithful because he cannot deny himself." 2 Timothy 2:13 These scriptures are what I stood on. These scriptures I believed...

What do you do when the actions of God seem erratic?

You know, in Christ there is supposed to be soundness, soundness of mind and soundness of mission. God says He is not the author of confusion. One of the wisest sayings I've heard is "the early bird catches the worm", which suggests early preparation for problem solving. But I've found God...

The absurd and unnecessary "reinventing of the wheel" fueled by poor education

You might ask why I put "reinventing of the wheel" in the title. It's simple, because all of those lessons kids weren't taught as kids, are lessons God expects them to know later on, and will hold them accountable for. The Israelites already learned plenty of lessons for us. Older Christians...

Humility vs. Arrogance - An indepth discussion

Michael Jackson was known as a very humble person. One could argue that his phenomenal success and accomplishments would not have been possible if he was arrogant. Even in the documentary making of the video "Thriller", fans and coworkers alike acknowledged Michael's humble spirit and kind...

The absurd and unnecessary "reinventing of the wheel" fueled by poor education

#1) When a child is being picked on or bullied at school, what are they told to do? What do Christian parents typically tell them to do? What do Sunday School teachers, pastors, or conventional wisdom tell them to do? Are they told to pray for the bully? Are they told to forgive the bully? Are...
