  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Urgent: Sister in MA in the mental ward for receiving the baptism

Well, my sis got out a couple hours ago (day 7 of being held). A hospital investigator looked into the situation and saw that there was something seriously wrong, so she got another psychiatrist in for a second opinion. The new guy said there was nothing at all wrong with my sis and that she...

Urgent: Sister in MA in the mental ward for receiving the baptism

Well, we should be finding out in the next couple hours whether she had the hearing or was just released. As far as any of us can tell what they told her about being able to keep her three business days wasn't true. Looking online it appears that MA law only allows 72 hours period, so they...

Urgent: Sister in MA in the mental ward for receiving the baptism

Well, we just heard from my sis a few minutes ago. The hospital is assigning a lawyer, and her husband is looking into getting her a patients rights attorney. Right before this we had tried the patients advocacy office, and all they seem to have is an automated system for reporting physical...

Urgent: Sister in MA in the mental ward for receiving the baptism

Well, I don't really know what's going to happen after she gets out. They've had some pretty rough spots in their marriage, but I don't really know what his intentions actually were in talking to the hospital. I mean, this guy once called the police because he couldn't get a cab (he thought it...

Urgent: Sister in MA in the mental ward for receiving the baptism

Heh, I have a feeling my sis is probably helping a few folks at that hospital (probably not laying hands on every person in there though, that'd just land you in solitary confinement in this place I'm guessing). The way they work the phones there is they have a payphone in the hall and when it...

Urgent: Sister in MA in the mental ward for receiving the baptism

It's all up to the hospital social worker's psych evaluation, which is probably very strongly influenced by the social worker's own beliefs (or lack thereof). It's the hospital itself that's doing this. I guess in that particular area they must not have any overcrowding. I don't get why...

Urgent: Sister in MA in the mental ward for receiving the baptism

Hi, It's been a long time since I last logged on, but I really need prayer for this. My sister has been married to a Muslim for the last eight years, and they have four kids. Up until now she had compromised her beliefs to some extent in teaching the kids - only teaching the bible stories that...

My mom's Chrystler Town and Country Lx minivan. Power doors, heated seats, and a six-disc cd changer with steering wheel controls... even though I still just listen to the classical radio station most of the time.
