  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Discretion or honesty?

I think it's often a matter of people not wanting God to be their God ... they want other people to be their God. "You can be a representative of God for me, but first you must meet these requirements I have." They miss the obvious difference between God and man, and by so doing ... they also...

What do I REALLY have to do to go to Heaven?

If you want to go to Heaven, I believe you might ask God to take you there. Arguably, there are other people trying to get in who claim to know the way, or that it doesn't exist, etc and so forth. I find that our assumptions often get in the way of the obvious. We assume we must physically die...

    Discretion or honesty?

Yes my bad ... I read into what you were saying in a different way. It irritates me when I'm that person who does that :) I should probably just leave the thread alone at this point lol .... but needless to say .... This reminds me of the common scenario, that most people can identify with...

    Discretion or honesty?

Yes a whole other thread .... which touches upon a culture that also seems to be spiritually "father/motherless" .... ;-) [/backs away from can of worms]

Can someone explain this parable, not sure what Jesus was trying to say

Hmm .... Well I can see why the link between Law/grace is made, being that the Pharisees are mentioned, questioning Jesus, etc ... But to further the context, it's also a response to a question about fasting. When the bridegroom is with friends, they don't fast ... when he is taken...

    Am I a Prophet?

Personally, I consider being labeled such things as prophet, apostle, even teacher/pastor etc ... as the Lord's doing. IOW, it's the Lord who will say you are such and such, not you saying it about yourself. I may go so far as to say that even the label of "Christian" is something not to claim...

    Discretion or honesty?

Haha well ... I'm in something deep at the moment, similarly linked to what I was seeing in the OP, so I was probably projecting a bit there :-)

Can someone explain this parable, not sure what Jesus was trying to say

I always took this to explain some of the ways we experience the Spirit. The Israelites in the desert had to find manna for food, every day. It was provided for them, but they had to gather it. And they couldn't let it last through to the next morning, or else it would rot, stink, grow worms...

    Discretion or honesty?

You know, in all honesty, I was reading into it a bit differently: "I used to study/practice sinistri, and now I can bring my knowledge and experience to the table, but I'm conflicted on whether to hide this or not in the ways I want to share it." That's what I was reading into lol ... but I...

    Discretion or honesty?

It's not always about scurrying off like a little rabbit, or hiding truth in fear ... it's also about considering the other person and what can be damaging to them or not. Sometimes there is a timing involved in such things. At times Jesus told others not to speak of things, or He left certain...

    Discretion or honesty?

ETA: And you know, after thinking about this more for a moment ... I have a personal example. There was someone I knew (family member) who was desperately praying for certain answers to prayer, and I believed I could help in a very clear and obvious way ... but they rejected what I had to offer...

    Discretion or honesty?

@ OP Hopefully you'll see how I mean for this to apply: I've found that freedom, is awesome, and powerful. It's a beautiful thing to be able to freely walk in and amongst the lost/sick/dying/wayward/etc ... I've found one of the stopping points for me, personally, is the unbelief of the person...

Confused about the existence of my life.

Hey Mon :) I don't believe anyone has welcomed you to the forums yet. So welcome :) And for those who are saying to you, "It's not about you," ... it actually IS about you. It's not either or. You are included. I'm frustrated right now that I'm on my way to work and can't properly respond to...

Instantly Angry when Jehovah Witnesses came to our door this morning

Would you have felt better had you ignored them, or simply told them to go away and not even engaged them at all ?
