    Only God truly knows the answer to this question. RCC and Orthodox are linked to the Church but as far as this humble Orthodox is concerned only the Orthodox have remained the Church as it is meant to be on Earth. I do not know if the RCC is "invalid" but I do believe it is in error.

    He and his wife are inquirers into the Church and from online conversations they seem ready to be received into the Church eventually when their priest decides they are ready. What I don't understand is when I ask them if they are catechumens they keep responding that they are "essentially"...

    Changing Parishes?

    I empathize with the OP. My mission church has been almost shut down twice by our parent OCA church and the priests from the OCA have advised myself and my wife to go instead to the Greek Orthodox church here in town just to have a stable church life. We made the switch and it has been rewarding.

    There is only the one true Church why would you want to be a member of anything besides that? I do not believe it is possible to "serve two masters" by attending both an Orthodox and a Protestant church.

    one of the priests serving our former mission is now divorced. His wife left to become a Catholic and for another man. He is still serving but he can not remarry.
