  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Which movies made you cry?

Most recently, Taegukgi. Tears just overflowed like a geyser. I've never teared-up that much in a movie since Good Will Hunting.

    Napoleon Dynamite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

I didn't like it. Felt like it was trying too hard to be quirky and offbeat. A little bit of Wes Anderson(Rushmore, bottle rocket, Royal Tenenbaums) with its soundtrack, aesthetics, and tone, and a little bit of Alexander Payne(Citizen ruth, Election, About Schmidt) with its condescending...

    Does the world hate America?

US of A has free refills so to me, that's enough of a reason to love it. Europe and Asia don't have free refills.

    Garden State...What you think?

Saw it a few days ago and enjoyed it, but had a few problems with it. I wished the last 15 minutes or so of the movie weren't so laden with stilted dialogue I've heard in a bunch of other movies of this type. This was unfortunate since it was consistently perceptive and well-written throughout...

    GREAT MOVIE: love actually

Awesome movie. I loved the bookend. Starting the movie at the airport and ending it there. Was a nice summation of the movie's theme. The story between the writer and the Portuguese housesitter and the Prime Minister and his secretary were my favorite. And the loser English dude and his...

    Best foreign movies you've seen

I was actually sad for Yve Montand's character even if he was a murdering, rotten SOB. Towards the end, it's revealed he wasn't always the evil plotting monster, but a vulnerable man who transformed after he thought he was betrayed by his wife. I felt more pity than satisfaction for his...

    Best TV theme song

I recently started watching The O.C. and fell in love with the opening song, "California" by Phantom Planet. It's a beautiful song that got me started watching the show. I never bothered to consistently tune in as I grew up in Orange County, but that song just pulled me in. I find myself...

    Best ending to a movie?

Good Will Hunting - Teared up so many times during the last moments of the movie like the scene when Robin Williams keeps telling Will that, "it's not your fault" regarding all of the physical abuse he endured from his foster dad and the last scene when he drives to California from Boston to get...

    Signs Mel Gibson

It was a good creepy, spine-chiller of a movie until the dude in the rubber suit posing as the alien popped out in the end. Awesome take-off, but crash landed.

    The Day After Tomorrow

Saw it tonight and while I was feeling the special effects, the rest was junk. But definitely it's worth the 10 bucks for the visual spectacle. For the people who know this stuff, is that instant freeze thing in the movie fiction or can that actually happen?

Maybe you clicked on the wrong section of these forums as if you take a ganders in the upwards direction, you'll see it notes this is a movie forum. Take politics to the politics section, guy.
