  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Why not believe in Christianity?

Afraid not, the myth of an infinite universe (which was popular among early greek philosophers such as plato) is indeed rejected by science. We are now sure that universe does have a point of origin prior to expansion. Atheists who attempt to remain reasonable, do speculate that there has been...

    Why not believe in Christianity?

I don't see how "faith" and "reason" contradict. Many highly intellectual theists believe faith through reasonable thought, logic, and even evidence. Science has not (nor can it) anwser such questions of morality, teleology, and human purpose. I'll be more than happy to throw away my religious...

    Skeptics W/ FAQs Here!

I believe it takes a certian amount of faith required to repent, but praying for faith is also a great idea if your seeking a solution.

    Why not believe in Christianity?

I'd say faith is a big part of religion, but your context on the term "proof" is quite a general one. Given modern scientific reseach, a belief in an omnipotent diety is not at all unreasonable. Such explanations for the big bang, the spontanous generation of life, and the philosophical...

    Why not believe in Christianity?

Im curious if you have any evidence for atheism. It would be most impressive to find any convincing reseach from atheism which excludes attacking/strawmanning theism.

    Why not believe in Christianity?

I quite sure belief does not notion toward capacity (you can't have 15%, 25% of a belief). A belief is the understanding of a concept through experiance. It can either be accepted as true, rejected as false, or not experianced. Assuming you are familar with the concept of Christianity, you can...

    Why not believe in Christianity?

Well I'm not sure how a belief can be "lacked" (I don't believe belief entails capacity), but anyways, the reason that I reject other theological paradigms is because they obviously contradict. One who doesn't believe in religion usally presumes they're just too many religions that contradict...

    Why not believe in Christianity?

It is a matter of presumptions and individual perspective (we all have beliefs). I was skeptic once as well, placing the value of religious concepts as labels and nothing more.

    Why not believe in Christianity?

Alright, I see your point. But that didn't really address the question.

Why did Jesus intentionally contradict Moses?

Im curious about a few of these issues.... (1) Stoning and condemnation for the sinful as God specifically instucted in the old testment (2) The Sabboath labor (3) Divorcing soley on adultary (what about abuse?)

    Why not believe in Christianity?

I see. Well would you honestly even want Christianity to be true?
