    World War

MAD, like democracy, is the worst idea ever developed except for all the other ones. No, that would be silly. Invade what ever third-world country did it, sure, but why waste a nuke on them?

    World War

    How?

    World War

Yup, it's called MAD. This topic is on world war between states, not isolated terrorist attacks.

    World War

World War - Probably not, nuclear weapons have kept that possibility in check for 60 years. If it does happen I'm headed out to my nearest fallout shelter, if you can survive the first week you have a reasonably good shot.

China : To Slay the Red Dragon

Seriously. They can't engage us without being decimated. There is no benefit to attacking us as no amount of gained territory is worth nuclear weapons exploding over your country. Therefore, they are not a threat.

China : To Slay the Red Dragon

I did. Blah blah blah, China is evil, blah blah blah, China is fascist. How does that make them dangerous? We can vaporize them, they can vaporize us, as evil as they are they still want to live. Therefore, they will not attack us.

China : To Slay the Red Dragon

I'm confused, how is China a threat to us? We have significant nuclear stockpiles and a launch-on-warning system.

Is the Cold War Really Over?

Japan: It's arguable that the use of nuclear weapons on Japan was necessary. Japan had to be brought to its knees quickly. At this point the Emperor was still capable of commanding his officers but there was a fear that with continued bombing the Japanese command structure would crumble...

Cheney: 'All options' available for Iran

You do know that the alternative to nuclear weapons was a prolonged campaign of naval bombardment, starvation, and possibly chemical weapons right? I think that the United States quick end to a war which would have cost millions more lives is different from a unprovoked terrorist attack.

Cheney: 'All options' available for Iran

You asked for an expert? :) Currently no nation is capable of knocking out strategic weapons, and indeed will not be able to for the foreseeable future. The weapon system that was discussed on "Futureweapons" was the THAAD, not the PATRIOT. The THAAD is designed to hit high-altitude targets...

    Atheist Discussion on CNN

http://youtube.com/watch?v=tiyJzWy3CDQ My personal favorite:: "I think they need to shut up and let people do what they do. No, I think they need to shut up about it." I can tell she's Christian, the love just radiates off of her. No, really, I can feel it from here.

    China's Crimes

So...what are you suggesting we adopt as our new foreign policy regarding China?

Chinese anti-satelite missile test a success

I believe that standard military doctrine during the Cold War and even now stated that any conventional war between nuclear powers was going to turn nuclear. You are making the assumption that we are are rational creatures, not true. If you look into nuclear game theory you can see that both...

Time to break up the USofA

Erm...if what you're saying is that we should use our nuclear stockpile on the Middle East, I think you need to consider Russia/China's feelings towards that (both nuclear powers). Also, anti-ICBM technology is in its infancy, there in no way we're getting anything good soon. Currently you need...
