  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Should Christians Ignore Superstition?

I don't always ignore it. Some habits like knocking on wood are just very hard to discard, because I grew up with those and see no real harm in them. I don't believe anything is prevented from happening just because I knocked on wood, but it's a commonly accepted action in my environment...

Can anyone offer me some advice?

I grew up as a Catholic and still consider myself to be one. I simply can't let go of the rosary, the saints, the angels, the Virgin Mary, confession and everything else that makes Catholicism so beautiful. The churches, too, always look and feel wonderful to me. That's a feeling I miss in the...

    Dating

Mm, I've dated an atheist and a Pagan before. :) I never dated a Christian and am quite curious about what that'd be like, but I still have a huge spot of weakness for the Pagan guy and so I doubt I'll date anyone else soon. It was, however, far more difficult to date the atheist... we had some...

What crazy things you have seen somone doing when drunk?

Most memorable one was the guy who had his mother on the phone and tried to talk with her about the sandwiches he'd been forced to take to the festival we attended. He started out with arguing against eating the sandwiches, but ended up throwing the sandwiches into the air and then telling his...

Girls, whats the most crazy/funniest thing your dad did

My Dad never really did anything either. :) He never met one of my exes, though, which is fortunate because that particular ex was not really the most ideal guy in the world. The other guy I consider to be one of my exes actually didn't leave such a good impression with my Dad because he was at...

    Should Christians Ignore Superstition?

The 'problem' with superstition is that it denotes a lack of trust in the divine providence of God. Also, some superstitious people get so caught up in being superstitious that their superstitions start to resemble a religion or system of beliefs. Yet these beliefs are irrational... basically...

    Thinking of leaving Catholicism

Thanks, Protinus! :) I believe it's possible to find Jesus through a book. In fact, books like the Chronicles of Narnia and that novel Anne Rice wrote about Jesus made me step closer towards him. Our spiritual lives always reflect a lot of searches and questions... and if we don't find our...

    Thinking of leaving Catholicism

Mmm, this topic sounds very familiar to me. I, too, have thought of leaving Catholicism behind. There's some things I heavily disagree upon where the Catholic Church is concerned -- stances on contraception and homosexuality, just to name a few -- and I don't always see eye to eye with a lot of...

What is your skill or specialty?

My 'speciality' is that I can see beauty in every single thing. I have a very creative mind and think that the whole Universe is one big piece of art. Just give me some paint, water and a canvas to work with... and I'm all connected to God and kinda 'downloading' what He wants me to share with...

    Introduce Yourself (2)

Hey all. :) I'm Eva, I'm 19 years old, live in the Netherlands and have recently come back to Christ after some years of wandering around in Paganism. I'm really, really new here and this place felt pretty safe to hide out in for the time being. Hope you don't mind!

    How ethical are you?

Mmm, I didn't mind filling in some details before I could take it. I came out of it as an "angel", which actually felt rather weird until I read the description. "Being good to others" is my most important moral perspective and I do actually believe the world would be better if we were less...

Please share the meaning of your avatar + sig

My avatar features a painting called "Star of Heaven" by Edward Robert Hughes. I originally liked it because her hair is a lot like mine, but I also once dreamt I wore such a 'crown of stars' as this woman wears in the painting. :) To me, the painting represents a sense of purity and humility...

    Hey you!

Wow, this place is huge... I had to take a long look around before I actually registered, just so I knew what I was getting myself into, but this place seemed just too good to pass up. You seem like a friendly bunch of people, and I could certainly do with some company in my walk of faith. So...
