  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

More Red Meat - Transgender Individuals Can't Enter Military Service

It's been years since I posted here, but I came back just to address this issue, because I think I have some personal insight. Now, I don't serve in the US armed forces. I do, however, serve the armed forces of my own country. Also, one of the guys I did basic training with is now a woman. And...

    Trudeau

If you look at the entire quote and not just the first sentence, you can see that he was baiting Sun News into quote-mining him. Evidently, they did.

Common ancestor between chimps and humans

Neither. The point I'm trying to demonstrate is that thermodynamics is a massive and complex field, yet some people believe that their very limited (and very often quite wrong) understanding of it somehow means that they can overturn centuries of scientific study. Look at the words used in the...

Common ancestor between chimps and humans

You must be this tall to talk to me about thermodynamics:

    Flat earth evidence

You want another example of how we know the world isn't flat? EM emitters. Why do you think that the effective point-to-point transmitting range of these devices goes up the higher above the surface of the earth they are placed? If the earth was really flat, their maximum surface range should be...

Oathkeepers Promise To Stop Further Kim Davis Arrests

I probably should have said, "at least two clauses."

    Religious control of human reproduction

You missed the point of my comment. Let's say we have a woman who believes in Yahweh and goes to church, prays regularly, and reads the Bible devotionally. This woman also takes birth control. Is she a 'name only Christian'?

    Religious control of human reproduction

You do realize that there is more than one reason to take birth control, right? I know lots of people who would be very offended if you called them 'name-only Christians' because they took birth control to help with things like menstrual camps, PMS, and complications from ovarian cysts.

Oathkeepers Promise To Stop Further Kim Davis Arrests

So let's see if I have this right. The First Amendment of the US Constitution has two clauses: one to protect the right of private citizens to practice the religion of their choosing free of government interference, while the other to prevent the government from either promoting or being...

Should pharmacists be able to prescribe birth control pills?

I was going to say something like this. My sister has been on birth control since she was about 13 or 14 to help with complications from ovarian cysts. She got married last year at age 25, and while I don't claim to have any special knowledge on the sex life of anyone but myself, I feel fairly...

How does/should the trend toward immorality in society end?

I think it might be part of that strange phenomena where certain groups of people think that the world is going to end because they now own slightly less of it.

The theory of evilution seems to be contradictory.

Yeah... and doesn't fish count as meat? There's raw fish on sashimi, and lots of people eat that. Also, he's forgetting the Inuit. EDIT: Also, I think the OP should go to Papua New Guinea or the Amazon Basin and observe the lifestyles of people who are basically still living in the Stone Age.

Supreme Court rules against clerk in gay marriage case

Alright, thankyou. That lines up with what everyone else seems to be saying as well - you just want to contest the legality of the ruling. I'll go back to my igloo to watch hockey now.

Supreme Court rules against clerk in gay marriage case

Right, that's a lot of what I'm hearing. Except... That's an interesting way of looking at it, but doesn't quite answer my first two questions. I'm trying to determine if clerks have or ever had the right to deny service based on their personal religious beliefs, regardless of legality (hence...
