I'd have to agree as well. It makes sense to swear on what you believe. If he swore on what he doesn't believe in, I'd question whether or not he was swearing true.

I'm terrible about doing "quiet time". I think that's my biggest problem, to be honest. I put God last, not first. I do everything else I have to do in the day, and then if I have time, I pray. I didn't used to be like that, but I'm like that now. I need to reprioritize, but it feels so...

Well, some Episcopal churches will let openly gay people be ministers. That's one of the biggest controversies in that church that I'm aware of. Another is women ministers, but that doesn't seem to be as big an issue.
