  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

How many kids do u have?

I just realized I posted about four years ago ... anyway, we have been blessed with another babyboy last July. The Lord is so good to us :).

    Prayer before meals?

Before we have our meal we thank God that we can be together, pray that Daddy has a good day at work and comes home safely. Then we thank the Lord for all kinds of things, e.g. the morning at kindergarden, ... and ask Him to bless all our loved ones. I, personally, don't agree with praying...

What is your current bible study curriculum?

I don't follow a special curricullum. At the moment I study the book of Romans. I often get inspired by Christian books or magazines what I'm going to study next in the Bible. But I do try to make a special effort during Lent to keep on track (which isn't easy with a family and a job).

    Lenten traditions

I went to a service at our church on Ash Wednesday with the children. As it was in the evening it was a bit difficult to keep the children quiet, but otherwise it was a wonderful service. Currently I'm on a diet, so I won't give anything up for Lent in particular. I try to read the Bible more...

Does a Christian "need" a denomination?

Thank you all for your replies. I didn't mean I wouldn't go to church, what I meant was, if I needed to be called "catholic" or "lutheran" or what ever in order to be a Christian. Part of my being fed up with different denominations is due to family matters (my parents in law don't want me to be...

Does a Christian "need" a denomination?

My question is: Does a Christian "need" a denomination? I ask this because I used to be a catholic, then I wanted to be a Lutheran and at the moment I'm being bullied to be catholic again (it's a bit complicated). That's why I thought, what about if I'm just a christian, neither catholic nor...

    My Lutheran homecoming

May I add my story? I was a cradle catholic, going to a atholic church and being a very active church member. As the years went on I grew closer to the Lord and started to look for another church (I just didn't feel "at home" anymore). Luckily I found a lutheran church close by, attended the...

    NFP or not?

We use NFP, to be more accurate, we use the STM (sympto-thermal-method). Even though it can be a bit confusing while breastfeeding, it works really well when you keep to the rules. At times when we don't want to abstain we use a diaphragm. It does the trick. I'm just so glad that I don't take...
