  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Bible as science book

I believe that is a faith question. No one can affirm your faith but God as stated in 2 Corinthians 1:21-22. I think the power of the Holy Spirit has been undermined greatly by many Christians for many reasons. Nonetheless, whatever language or translation one encounters in the Bible, if the...

    Science or God? Who's responsible?

Thank you for your transparency. As one who has witnessed the healing of minds and bodies under the power of the name of Jesus and not dependence on meds, I can testify to the power of God to be sovereign over the illnesses in our minds. I encourage you to press into your faith of God's mighty...

    Science is all-knowing and all-powerful

Wow, I never considered the truth in that expression. Although I have never been deeply interested in science, I admit that I have repeatedly undermined the power and worship given to it by those in the field and those without faith who look to science for the answers. Perhaps science is yet...

    Should I study science?

I believe that in the right lenses, science can be one of the most powerful tools to gain understand and impact the world. I suppose it depends on the motive of why you are going into science in the first place. I believe your heart posture in the aim of study is significant to what you find and...

Common Ground Between Christianity and Science

According to Author Amos Yong in The Spirit of Creation, an interdisciplinary framework for a scientifically-theologically informed dialogue is necessary to understand the complexity that is the human person. Yong adds that, "our understanding of God's action in the world," need not be...

    Catholicism and science

Thank you for the article. I think that the bridge between science and theology or science and religion is one marred by the historical use of science to oppress some people while elevating others, as well as the attempts of science to discredit the existence of God, or theology used to...

    Please help my doubts

Thank you so much for sharing your doubts. I am sorry to hear of your illness but please hold on to your hope in the Lord. I do not believe that it is by accident or coincident that you are here in this world, nor do I believe that God is ignorant of your heart and confusion. I believe that the...

Hi I am new here and need advice...

I commend your outreach as a mother over this matter. I am often amazed at the powerlessness that many parents feel over the decision their children make in adulthood. So as a young woman of this time, I commend your heart to want to do the best in this situation. May I suggest that you pray...

    not worth anything

My dear sister, I pray that you receive the grace and power of God on this new day to find the strength to lay all you burdens to Christ. Every thought that you are processing, every emotion that you are harboring, might I invite you to write your Father in heaven a letter, a lamentation of a...

    Neutrality

Thank you for your post. That is definitely a unique way to put it. Nonetheless, my question to you is this - If we are born in the "image of Adam and not of God as Adam was, how does that impact our understanding of our divinity as creation in the image of God?" Would it be more fitting to...

Are the OT saints part of the body of Christ?

This is such an insightful post. Thank you for posing the thoughtful question. I think it gets blurry sometimes when we interpret Scripture in the OT an the NT. Nonetheless, I believe that Christ is the fulfillment of the promises of the OT. As we read in Genesis 22:18, the covenant that God...

    Neutrality

Perhaps it depends on one's understanding of freewill. I believe we have the will to choose life or death as the Scriptures remind us. I believe that a life in Christ is choosing freedom from the power of sin and evil, from the powers of the flesh. Personally, I do not believe neutrality is a...

    "Ask Jesus Into Your Heart"???

Thank you for your post. I think we need to first take ourselves out of the equation and allow the Holy Spirit (Who really has done the convicting) to lead the way in what we say to the hearer of the gospel in response. Often, I think a communal declaration by the surrounding body of believers...

    About claiming scriptural authority...

Thank you kindly for your post. I think it is by grace that we even get to utter or proclaim a gospel that many died for in the early church. I am honored daily to live in a world where I can proclaim a faith in Christ and not fear for my life or my family's life in the act of such public...

    Churches with unbiblical doctrines

Hi again Ben. Have you tried asking yourself why you go to church at all. For some, church is an obligation, for some, it is a therapeutic place to be during hard times. But if we are speaking of what is biblical, the early church yearned for a place to talk about God and to hear from God. The...
