  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Protestants who want a confession app like the Catholic one

Its a reality though. "Once Saved Always Saved" Baptists will tell you exactly that in no uncertain terms. Its not as if he made it up, it is what many Protestants say about themselves.

    Teenager Wants a Different Church

Some places call it a "Spoken Eucharist."

As a matter of conscience and my faith I do not believe that it is appropriate for...

Boys shouldn't be expected to wrestle with girls because of the obvious reasons... The side that is for it will say "Oh, well, if a boy can't control himself then he's just a perverted little freak" but the reality is that no one has the ability to control themselves about that, if anyone...

Vatican prefect concerned about ongoing secularization of religious orders

So in other words you don't actually believe in anything Catholic at all. Not the magisterium, not the authority of the ordained or the bishops that Jesus gave them in the Bible or anything else really.

Vatican prefect concerned about ongoing secularization of religious orders

I do but like, every time I see one I want to reply and have to refrain... I will probably get banned now anyway. As for the "innovative" monks or whatever other balderdash was used, actually clothing is in the Rule of Saint Benedict and the other major rule, that of Saint Basil, is even more...

Vatican prefect concerned about ongoing secularization of religious orders

How do you block someone? I'm tired of reading idiotic things like this (and yes, it is hugely impolite but it doesn't mean it is not true).

    The Boy Without a Cerebellum

That is what I was thinking. Its pretty well established known now that the brain does do that, even if how isn't understood well. IIRC there's at least one person running around living fairly normally and their brain has basically just disappeared from the inside out (symmetrically on both...

    The Boy Without a Cerebellum

Since he had his cerebellum while in the womb his motor skills would have begun developing and something like disease could have triggered apoptosis of the cerebellum cells. Which could be introduced if they did something like take a genetic sample of the fetus or used a hysteroscope or lots of...

    religion and environmental pollution

Actually I did write in a response how it was only the descendants of Aaron and in the Jerusalem temple that it was supposed to be done according to the Bible.

    religion and environmental pollution

Industrial facilities in developed countries actually do not produce particulate pollution. There are extensive laws concerning what can be released into the air and if your system is not working your facility is shut down whether anyone likes it or not (this is part of my speciality)... Every...

Question on star appearing at Jesus's birth

The first one is called a simile or metaphor. "Like the sand of the desert" or "like the stars in the sky" means a lot, more than can be counted.

Will AI change the human species as we know it?

If you don't create "hands" (networked remotely controlled infrastructure) then there is only so much it can do no matter how smart it is. Otherwise you just have an armless, legless crazy genocide genius flopping around in rage.

Will AI change the human species as we know it?

The only way that would work, the only way the AI could continue if wiped us out, would be if it had control of remote systems for mining, power generation, transportation and manufacturing. Otherwise if it wipes us out its just going to "die" if it can't supply its self with power, resources...

A photo tour of Hosni Mubarak's two opulent palaces

Good to know what American tax payers were really supporting in Egypt. The politicians that decided giving them billions of dollars a year should be imprisoned but Americans are sheep, more oppressed than the Egyptians were and clueless about it at the same time as long as they have big-macs and tv.

    Pope ousts 3 Boston Priest's

If the title has "accused" that implies they have not actually been found guilty. If it says they are priests it also implies they are priests even though the article says two of them haven't been priests for decades... But no need to be insulting, anyway. Enjoy your liberal news...
