  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Books about Jesus and resurrection?

I'm exploring Christianity, although at this point I don't identify as a Christian. I'm interested in finding objective and intelligent books about the history of Christianity. I'm specifically interested in Jesus identifying himself as a savior and his resurrection. Realistically, I'm not going...

Where can I find the Christian church for me?

I'm interested in knowing those early non-biblical sources.

Where can I find the Christian church for me?

The problem is, I believe, that the bible has been tampered with by the church in order to scare and manipulate people. That's why I don't believe in hell. Neither does Bishop Shelby Spong. Go to youtube and enter "Shelby Spong" and "hell" and you can see an interview with him explaining how...

Where can I find the Christian church for me?

You seem to think you have the right to tell me what religion I should choose. You don't have that right. How on earth would you know whether or not the resurrection took place. Get real. This is something you have no way of knowing. You're brainwashed or afraid of going to hell. That's the kind...

Where can I find the Christian church for me?

Allegorical stories were very common during that period of time. What makes you think the resurrection is not a allegory? By the way, I know quite a few people who call themselves Christians who do not believe in the resurrection.

Where can I find the Christian church for me?

I totally disagree with you. If I have a relationship with God and have faith and follow Jesus' teachings, I can call myself a Christian. You cannot define Christianity for me. You admit that you don't take all biblical stories literally, so why do you feel you have to take the resurrection...

Liberal Christianity in Orange County, CA

Thanks Kylor and Camethodactor, Camethodactor, I live in the southernmost part of Orange County, I will probably try those churches you mentioned, although they are a little far from me. Today I went to the UCC in Laguna Beach. It didn't seem all that vibrant, but that doesn't deter me from...

Liberal Christianity in Orange County, CA

Hi everyone, I've been a Unitarian Universalist for over a decade. These days I'm leaning toward Christianity, partly because I've recently started believing in a personal God, and also I'm trying to strengthen my faith. Consequently, most of my friends, these days, are Christians. But I am not...
