  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Where can a Christian writer with no money get published?

CreateSpace is the best venue I have found. The only money you put out is for the proof or finished copies you order for yourself for giveaways or resale. Their digital proofing tools are very helpful. They have a Cover Creator you can use to design your covers, using their artwork or by...

How many published authors are on this forum?

I have had several essays published in the past through a magazine with a circulation over 100,000 at that time. To-date, I have self-published eight books, six fiction and two nonfiction. Self-publishing has come a long way since the original post in this discussion was made. Granted there are...

    Hey, published authors

I should preface my comments by saying that my books are all self-published. From what I've both learned from writers of traditionally-published books and self-publishers, the main difference is in royalties. Either way the author has to do most of the work in promoting the book. Most...

Any Ideas on how to promote a book?

Start a blog and a website. I recommend Blogger for the blog as it's easy to start and user friendly to design and update. Plus, it's free. A website can be done through goDaddy.com, but there's a basic cost outlay for hosting the site. Get an account on Goodreads (also free) and add your books...

    Non-Fiction

I have two published nonfiction books, Hezekiah Rasco: Child of Woe - Man of Sorrow, and Where In The World Is Arkoe Missouri? The first is the story of a young Missouri farm boy turned murderer, and the second is the history of the small town where I know live and that he lived near at the...

Also, Michael Shank's book, Muscle and a Shovel has been recommended to me several times, but I haven't read it yet. Ordering it soon.

    Physical books or ebooks?

Even though e-readers are popular, and I have put my entire reference library and most of my books on my Kindle, most folks still seem to prefer the paperback books. I published one book as an e-book only, and boy did I get feedback from those who wanted to read it but didn't have and weren't...

Clean books you would recommend (Authors)

I just started a series of action/adventure intrigue books by author Steve Wilson, because I was looking for something similar to what Tom Clancy and Vince Flynn had written, but without the profanity. Steve Wilson's first book is Red Sky at Morning, the second is Tempest of Fire, and the third...
