  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Early Christianity corrupted by Greek philosophy?

When the first Christians tried to explain their religion they had no choice but to use the philosophical terms of their culture, which happened to be a fancy amalgam of the Greek, the Latin (always much more practical) and the Egyptian (always much, much, more mystical) as much as the Jewish...

    Prayer~ is it worship?

We lack words to define love (and no, Greek wouldn't do either, you Greeks :P ), much less to define prayer.

    Am I your enemy

You had a point if God's commandments were merely commandments and nothing else, as if He would not give us the Grace necessary to love deeply. But in any case, you aren't my enemy.

    Am I your enemy

I do not consider anybody who disagree with me an enemy. And even if you were I am commanded by God Almighty to love you, anyway. (Even though I don't recall you, sorry )

    Prayer~ is it worship?

Don't you think we should take care of the external elements in prayer so never to fall into sin?

    The American flag

Maybe it's because I'm a Spaniard, but I can't relate *some* Catholic prayers to saints with the flag (and I used to be Catholic)

    Who was Michael Servetus?

Theology does not make anybody a saint, but Grace.

    Who was Michael Servetus?

Exactly, Theology is a product of human reason, not revealed truth, no matter what some theologians might want to think. As a product of human reason it can be confronted with Scripture (to see if it explains Scripture as a whole, not just this verse or book), and logic(to see if it has internal...

    Who was Michael Servetus?

Nazis designed pretty good planes, and their work on rocket research paved the way for the moon. Let's discuss doctrines, not the persons who penned them, for we will always find some failing in Theologians.

Would you like to discuss systematic theology?

Easy young man, you are dealing with stuff that took centuries to develop. We'd go step by step :)

    Who was Michael Servetus?

    1. Calvin is not Calvinism 2. Calvinists are people too. 3. Never judge a person by his/her faith icon. 4. Heresy is something that should be reserved for salvific issues only.
