  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    How to falsify evolution

These threads always make one think: There are so many elegant ways to disprove evolution. There is a world of countless possible very simple observations that could turn evolution on its head. And yet, all we get from creationists is a pile of rationalizations and polemics. Intelligent...

    How to falsify evolution

A shark tooth in the Burgess Shale. I don't see why we haven't found that yet of there had been a flood. It was a marine environment, after all. Heck, a tuna or salmon skeleton in the Burgess Shale would do the trick.

    Continental Seperation Mechanism

Creationist inadvertently discovering history of science: You really should read up on the history of plate tectonics (and by that I mean the history of the theory, not the plates themselves).

Why was Tiktaalik where the scientists predicted it would be (II)

Actually, one can prove that the team that went up to the Arctic looking for Tiktaalik predicted its presence there. Please see this article that dates back to 1999 before this expedition first began. Note: be sure to read both pages of the article, the important bits come up on page 2

The dishonest claim of evidence for evolution

You're very welcome. So long as you have questions about this animal, I can do my best to answer. I have, after all, seen the material first hand and work with these kinds of fishes. Actually, no. This we can say for sure is categorically false. Tiktaalik rosae was described a week ago...

The dishonest claim of evidence for evolution

In just about every conceivable way. Where do you want me to start? I'll start at the tip of the snout. The external nostrils of a crocodile are placed on the top of the snout and are really close together. In Tiktaalik, the external nostrils are down on either side of the snout, close the...

The dishonest claim of evidence for evolution

[this post is a continuation of the one immediately previous] The other thing that Tiktaalik shows us is an incredibly tetrapod-like shoulder. When we look at a fish shoulder of a typical lobe-finned fish (the group from which tetrapods are supposed to have descended), we see that the shoulder...

The dishonest claim of evidence for evolution

I'm going to put a slightly different angle on this. TexasSky, I'm going to give you a little history about this animal Tiktaalik and help explain why it is so important. In the process, I hope to give a few clues as to how palaeontology and the associated evolutionary research is done. The...

    Nature and Tetrapods

Martin Brazeau is not an author on one of the papers. The papers were written by a completely different group in the US. Martin happens to know about what's going on, but is not one of the authors.

The most dangerous people in america

Oh, LOL! That shake! I thought you meant that thing he does with his head when he tries to put the fear of fire and brimstone in ya. You know, that shake that makes his little jowels flap around.

The most dangerous people in america

Yeah, certainly. Even still, that belittles the amount of work a pastor does. They are usually on-call 24/7 in case family dies, or there are other crises they need to attend to. It's no less dishonest to say a pastor only works two hours a week than it is to say that university professors...

The most dangerous people in america

[emphasis added] :D :D :D Whoever wrote that has obviously never even set foot on a university campus! They teach maybe six hours per week. It is positively ludicrous to translate that into how much they actually work. Professors are dedicated, hard-working, and very passionate and...
