  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Christmas and Legalism

Just today I've been re-editing my Christian Forums blog post about the Christmas Season. I'm uncomfortable with Christmas at the best of times, but after a very recent bereavement at home (my precious mother), Christmas has an intrusive unbiblical edge I could well do without. It's predominant...

    To Be Like Jesus

"For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to he conformed to the image of his Son" (Romans 8:29). We may not understand predestination, and the scholars may argue about it, but it is very plain what God had in mind—our conformity to the image of His Son. In other words, He would have...

How do I stop doubting? (in prayer, or regarding the Gospel)

The purpose of our faith is to see God glorified and to accomplish His will (read John 14:13). So when we pray we must keep in mind that “If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14). If it’s not according to His will He will not give us what we ask for. There are...

Verses that screen superficial believers out of the Kingdom of God

God has provided a perfect way to be eternally secure in Christ (consider John 3), and to be saved from everlasting wrath (Romans 5:9). Saving faith happens when people hear the message about Christ and are drawn to Him by the Father (Romans 10:17; John 6:44-45; 65). Sadly, while many hear the...

does it do me any good to read a couple verses of the Bible each day?

It's not how much of God's Word you read that matters most, but how deeply you think about it. And of course, the more carefully you think it over the more time it takes! The main issue here is how highly we value Scripture. If we make it a priority we will certainly find the time to think...

Trump Sides With Christians - Again

Garnering Christian votes and identifying fully with Christ are rarely linked.

    WHAT HEBREWS 6:2 MEANS ??

The context, as given in verse one, concerns leaving "the elementary teaching about Christ". There follows a list of subjects that are being referenced as elementary teaching about Christ. These teachings are to be left behind in the sense the writer is instructing the readers to move on in...

    Being a Christian is Tough

See also: BIBLICAL FAITH AND DEPRESSION Following Christ faithfully will be very challenging at times. But many will make their lives unnecessarily difficult because of wrong choices that lead them deeper into sin. We must face up to the harsh reality that we all have the potential to behave in...

    Prayer and Free Will

In the context of James 5 (I assume): In a gathering of the a local church, prayers of faith will restore (save and heal) those who are suffering and weakened. The righteous person’s prayer of faith “makes tremendous power available” (Amplified Bible), “has great power as it is working” (ESV)...

Does Jesus look to find fault with us?

This isn't fault-finding—it is God's holy and righteous response to sin and unbelief among His people. In His dealing with man, responses such as these have characterised God's nature from the beginning.

What does it mean to be a lover of this world ?

Those who identify with Christ, yet love the world, need to take a close look at their beliefs. Jesus taught that those who are of the world will love it, and those who are not of the world will be hated by it (see John 15:18, 19; 17:14-18). Those who are following Christ faithfully—are...

    The Dangers of the World

“The Lord Jesus Christ…gave Himself for our sins so that He might rescue us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father” (Galatians 1:3, 4). “The god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving so that they might not see the light of the gospel of the...

The return of Christ in Sept of 2040

Doesn't this fundamentally contradict Christ Himself? "Be alert, because you don’t know either the day or the hour....You don’t know what day your Lord is coming" (Matthew 24:42; 25:13). Being alert is what matters most. Spiritual maturity in Christ takes a balanced approach to future events...

    Falling from faith.

Hebrews 6:4-6 in isolation can sometimes be misleading? (This translation is puzzling—“penance”? “maintaining pretences”?) To be clear, Hebrews 6:4-6 reads: “For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the...

How to Defeat Sin, Part 2

PART 2: When We Keep On Sinning “And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly...
