  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Evidence for the Validity of Christianity. Where?

Hmmmm The more that I sit and think about your comment regarding proving negatives, the more I disagree, in this instance. While I do agree, that in most cases proving a negative is more difficult, EG, prove that no one in America drinks Pepsi, you would have to know every single person in...

Evidence for the Validity of Christianity. Where?

While I appreciate your inquiry, your lack of argument shows either a lack of understanding, or a lack of concern for find a real answer. Essentially, in response to all of my arguments and assertions, your answer was "No it isn't", while offering no reasoning or evidence as to why your...

Evidence for the Validity of Christianity. Where?

Washington, Rather than answering defensively, let me answer offensively. What proof do you have, or can you cite, that the Bible is incorrect? I believe in God, because the Bible tells me that He is real. I believe in the Bible, because there has been nothing in all of my research and study...

    Pants on Women

Hey GEL, To echo what BereanTodd said, it's a cultural thing. Our society does not accept men wearing skirts, but there are other cultures that do (e.g. the Scots) and I think that it is perfectly acceptable for them to do so. I am also sure that if our society and tradition dictated that men...

    When is it realistic...

Hi Genteel, I am not technically the parent of a teen, so I hope you don't mind me throwing my advice in anyway. Rather than just asking her to leave, I would give her an ultimatum. This is what we told my teenage sister-in-law when she came to live with us: "You are technically an adult, and...

    Young Adults Question Thread (4)

Much to the chagrin of my wife... Especially FPS like Halo, and racing like NFS. What is your favorite evening snack?

Thinking about dateing a non-christian.trying to decide right or wrong. Help wanted!!

Ahhhh! Sorry huldah, but I have to disagree with you. It is never a good scenario to form a relationship with a non-Christian, in the hope that you might be able to convert her. The outcome rarely (although it does happen) leads to a genuine conversion. Usually they either: 1. Say that they are...

    Pants on Women

I want to clarify one thing. I am not discussing here whether or not women should wear pants. For me the question is whether or not women can wear pants, whether or not the Bible allows it. This clarification is due to the discussion that I had with my wife this morning (who has worn skirts...

    Pants on Women

Hey All! Thanks for your thoughts regarding pants on women. GEL, once again, as one of the sole posters against women wearing pants, I must resort to directing my questions to you. Your comment is really my point. Yes comparing shirts is like comparing shoes, we all wear them, but what is the...

    Pants on Women

Wow, this is waaaaaay off track from the OP. Final comment on this from me. I don't expect breastfeeding women to refuse to feed their children while in public, nor do I expect them to go to the bathroom to do it, any more than I would want to eat my meal in the bathroom. However, there are...

    Pants on Women

Miss Shelby, giving a child sustenance does not offend me, any more than a husband and wife consummating their marriage offends me, but that does not mean that I want to see pictures of it...

    Pants on Women

Hey Psalmist, sorry Shelby, I'm with her. I have nothing against breastfeeding, (I think every woman should, if possible) experienced it with all three of my kids, but that doesn't mean that I want to share it with others.

    Pants on Women

Wade, Well, this has gotten a little off topic, and I really don't want this to turn into a debate, so I will simply make one more statement regarding this issue, and leave it at that. I agree with you, that just because you believe that something is not sin, does not make it right, but that is...

    Pants on Women

Hey Wade, To be quite honest, I am slightly confused by your two posts. In your first post, you state that it is not wrong for women to wear pants. But then you attack the use of Romans 14 and I Cor 8, stating that people use that to try to justify sin. So are you saying that people that think...

    Pants on Women

Hi Wade, While I appreciate your caution regarding moral relativism, being that it is a very slippery slope, I will interject that even Paul was a believer in moral relativism. The problem with moral relativity, as we define it today, is that it purports that all morality is relative, which is...
