  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    what is the faith test?

NIV 2 cor 13:5 5Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test? 6And I trust that you will discover that we have not failed the test. 7Now we pray to God that you will not do anything...

The Bible clearly states YOU HAVE TO HAVE WORKS

What about the church Jesus is rebuking in Revelation 3:15? They are believers. 15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Does luke warm not...

The Bible clearly states YOU HAVE TO HAVE WORKS

Mathew 7:21 21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?'...

The Bible clearly states YOU HAVE TO HAVE WORKS

The question and trouble I have with this scripture is 1-what is the fruit that we are to bear if not works? We know even unbelievers can produce good works(give money, help the poor, etc) so that contradicts the verse where it says "the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the...

The Bible clearly states YOU HAVE TO HAVE WORKS

19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe -- and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? This verse in itself does it not say that the demons who know God, which mean they have faith in who he is and what he has...

The Bible clearly states YOU HAVE TO HAVE WORKS

you might want to reread them especially the parts I have in bold. a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone. This verse Clearly says you are justified by your works. How could you have missed that. How in the world can you say "Those passages do NOT state that works do...

The Bible clearly states YOU HAVE TO HAVE WORKS

I know this has been discussed before but I sometimes just don't quite understand how some Christians can over look some glarring scriptures that say works are part of the equation. I know and yes have read the faith alone saves verses but the question is what kind of faith? The bible is clear...

Fair Share? THE GOVERNOR TOLD THE TRUTH... "TAXES FOR REVENUE ARE OBSOLETE" Have you ever stopped to ask yourself this simple question: If the government can print as much money as it needs, then why is there an income tax? In 1946, Beardsley Ruml - then Governor of the...

super sensitive concsience or something else??

Thanks all for your help. I am still struggling and don't see an end in sight. I will keep praying. I have had this off and on for many years. I have been fortunate for the last 10 years to be pretty solid in my thinking. But now I am a mess again and trying to get through it. I continue to...

super sensitive concsience or something else??

I have been a christian for about 25 years and I have had many struggles. I sometimes feel easily condemned when I read the bible. I have been told in the past that I am too analytical and too scrupulous. Even when I was a teenager I would feel depressed and not be sure if I was sinning or not...

I am a little confused about this. We know from the new testement that the apostles did not receive the holy spirtit until after Jesus died. my question(s) are what was leading these apostles if they didn't have the spirit? and what was leading the faithful Jews in centuries before the Holy...
