  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why Do You Do Worship Music The Way You Do?

I belong to a Nazarene church, I'm guessing that we are "conservative". Our worship set is six to eight songs. We are careful to avoid pauses. We mix hymns and contempary in the set. We use different keys to help the lone singer sing with more power, to keep the flow going we work harder on the...

What if old people complain about worship being "too loud"?

I agree, the churches have become a little too "seeker friendly".If we acted on complaints we would be too loud, too quiet, only hymns, only contempary, no music, only music, and on and on.:sorry:

We need Lead Worshippers, not Worship Leaders

This is something worship leaders face all the time. May I suggest if you can see a worship leader is lacking go to them and tell them what they appear to be doing. Then there is praying for them. As a worship leader I would welcome any of what I mentioned. If I am doing something that would be...

Why is being in the music ministry so hard?

This might help. I used to struggle also but with different things. I talked about this to the bass player on my team. He said "I think of myself as a tool for God to lead the congregation in unity to praise God". I have adopted this attitude and find I don't struggle with things anymore, I just...

    what music are you using?

I think Christian culture has formed their own sound. when I listen to secular music I find I can only listen to it for about ten minutes, then it becomes irritating. The nontraditional Christian comes on the radio I've found that the nonbeliever is almost instantly offended without even hearing...

God's Lead Instrument In Heaven Is...

We know that we can only see a small amount of light that actually exists, and can only hear a limited number sound wave lengths. I Heaven I don't think we will be limited to the experiences we have in this life. I think worship will be unlimited, more, bigger, ect.....

    What if... Outrageous Worshipper

We have had visitors in our conservative church that would be considered outrageous. After the sermon we usually gather in the kitchen for fellowship and church members are interested in talking to the "outrageous worshiper". We welcome outrageous worshipers with open arms.

We need Lead Worshippers, not Worship Leaders

What you are all saying sounds right but, what we think we should have and what we do have are two different things. I you can see that the worship leader is lacking maybe you should petition God to bless him or her.

    NOT a worship pastor anymore!!

I've been a musician for over 40 years, and there have been times where I just had to take a break from music. When I was ready to go back to music I would find new inspiration. I think this is normal.

Good Music Skills vs A Worshipful Heart

From my personal experience some people cannot obtain these skills even after years. To lead worship takes heart and ability. Not everyone can do this.:sorry:

What is worship? what Worship means? (Moved from Worship Ministry)

This question causes me to really dig. Being a worship leader I have been bent toward praise and the warfare concept (Psalm 149). I now realize there is more to worship than that. I guess I'm back to the beginning. Thanks for restarting the fire. I'll be back when I have more information.
