  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Ordination advice ASAP, please?

PS, I want to add that I'm sure there are Episcopal dioceses that have more traditional views observed, but where I have lived, the entire diocese is off on a tangent in that way. Also, I just really came to find such a heavy requirement of ritual problematic, so if only for that reason, I'd...

    Ordination advice, please?

Right. Have done that but this other aspect persists and, after so many years, I know that I have to follow that call.

New member seeking counsel/ advice re ordination ASAP

I posted it in a few threads because, being brand new to this website, I wasn't entirely sure which one(s) would be best.

New member seeking counsel/ advice re ordination ASAP

Thanks. Yeah, I hear that about the responsibility. However, I feel called to serve and any form of serving necessarily requires one to advise or speak words to direct or influence another at regular intervals, so it would seem that to some degree - and increasingly if one remains active - this...

    Ordination advice ASAP, please?

Hi. Well, I assume that by "in this time," you mean since this calling. I've attended many, sometimes while searching, such as when I moved across the country and/ or changed from a denomination to non-denominational, and sometimes just to be with other Christians on occasion or to hear a...

    Ordination advice, please?

Thanks. Yeah, I hear you and have come to a similar place in my process as regards concerning oneself with what other men do by sight, etc. Not totally but to a large degree, vis-a-vis a lot of so-called ordained ministry and ministers. It would seem that much of that is so far (too far) removed...

    Ordination advice, please?

Yeah, I have to say that thus far I disagree with cessationism. I understand that people interpret things that way. While I agree that the miracles, signs, and wonders type of thing was for the early church, and were primarily to reach the Jewish people, I feel that the idea that many prophetic...

    Ordination advice, please?

Thanks for your very thoughtful reply. Re 1) Yeah, the lay ministry thing is something I've considered. It just didn't seem that there were/ are too many opportunities to do so fully without some form of credentials, especially re donations, as it seemed fewer people would want to donate if...

    Ordination advice, please?

Thank you. I guess the main reasons for certification would be so that I wouldn't get into any legal issues re donations if I happen to get an abundance of them, or even just if people want to deduct their donations from their taxes (or just do so out of the assumption that they can) and so I...

    Ordination advice, please?

Hello. I'd love your input. At first, I posted this as a reply within an existing thread I found where so many are already connected re the subject about which I would like counsel. However, it occurred to me that I should also post my own thread, to increase the odds of getting a reply and also...
