  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Implications of the indwelling Christ

When I have found myself in situations where know one understood me, or maybe even misunderstood me, where the Church seemed like it was on a completely different page to what God was doing in my life, brother, those were the times that God's work was clear and simple to my heart. There are...

    God's Trophy

God told Noah to build and Ark, didn't make much sense at the time.

The Implications of the indwelling Christ

I know some of what I am sharing through this thread sounds lofty, but trust me in that I have found these things to be true in the worst of places, having been a backslider and stumbler with the best of them. I often see the old nature creeping up and usurping the throne of Christ, trying to...

The Implications of the indwelling Christ

Well to answer the questions above it is God in Christ in me, working both to will and to do his good pleasure. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, one God, three persons. The three persons have come to indwell me, I have the Trinity living inside of me, they cannot be separated. Many people...

The Implications of the indwelling Christ

I know that this will reverberate with some, and I hope it might bring some comfort to know that God is actively working in your life, but let me go on to say what can happen when he does, After some of these times when you are hungering and thirsting for God, crying out in the inner man for a...

    Extolling the Love of God

Perfection is love, something the human mind cannot comprehend. The perfection of God is illuminated by His love, a love that emanates eternally, pulsing from the Godhead. First finding expression within the Godhead, and then being expressed in creation. Everything God has made is an expression...

What I don't like about Calvary Chapel

I see your point and I get it, but it is certainly not confined to Calvary Chapels, I have seen it in churches with boards as well as congregational churches, man simply likes to steal the glory...whether he realizes he or she is even doing it. I remember counting the number of I's in a sermon...

What is the Normal Christian Life?

Thanks for the comments, when I diatribe it is simply to flesh out my own thoughts, pardon the expression. Bringing the scripture directly into the discussion is imperative, and Cassia thank you for doing so. My understanding of sanctification, the process of Christ's kingdom in my life, well...

What I like about Calvary Chapel

Although I commented in the "other" thread on the dangers of personalities in the pulpit, I would recommend Calvary Chapel as a church to anyone looking for one, the church I now attend is mostly former Calvary people who inherited a small church from another denomination, but now have become...

What is the Normal Christian Life?

Yes I am talking about religious life, but in doing so we delve into theology as well, namely what is the nature of God. And how does he communicate his nature to creatures such as we. I think the ultimate communication of His nature was the incarnation, but the incarnation was for one simple...

    Christianity and Bigfoot

I spent most of my life in the outdoors, have heard moose and elk, coyote and wolves, all kinds of owls, well this in nothing like that, it mostly would resemble a human with extraordinary vocal chords or a gibbon or something in that section of the zoo. But as far Idaho, well I would not be...

What I don't like about Calvary Chapel

^^^^^In response I will have to retract the statement that the smaller churches as a whole have the mega church expectation, I guess my experience is pretty limited to the Midwest, but I know some of the Pastor's personally, and in some of those cases the expectation certainly was present at the...

What is the Normal Christian Life?

Of course I am coining the term normal Christian life from Watchman Nee whose book by the same title is a must read. I guess I want to approach the subject both as an argument as well as an appeal, garnered in 35 years of personal experience living as a believer in Christ. I have sojourned in...
