  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Philosophy has no meaning for "Christians"

I wouldn't say philosophers necessarily do that unless they're in philosophy of religion studies, so a lot of them are actually christians.

Philosophy has no meaning for "Christians"

I used to go to a church where pastor kept bashing philosophy. I think he was confusing philosophy as a science with philosophy as a common term for world view. In my opinion, philosophy can strengthen theology so much - but most Christian ministers don't realize that. At the other hand...

Philosophy has no meaning for "Christians"

I absolutely agree with you. All people, including Christians, should be curious and should be learning not just from their Sunday school.

    Closing my account

Hi all, thanks for kind words. And encouragement to stay. I guess what I'm going to do is to dispute 1 rule. Or some of them. Show their weakness, and show how they plant hypocrisy. If it doesn't work - I am going. Meanwhile, I will give away blessings to those who asked. One time long ago I...

    Closing my account

Hey, I've been a member here since 2004. But now that I am completely sure that CF moderators are hypocrites, I am closing my account. I have 21,666 blessings, I want to give them away. In fact they're worth nothing, they aren't real, but maybe if you think that they are - I will give them to...

    temptation of Jesus

I guess scientists and even theologists have too much time, that's why they get their degrees and do research work, but other people just take shovels and start tracktors and farm all their lives, right? I think you take it down to my attitude, am I correct? I think it's a mistake of many to...

    temptation of Jesus

Correct, this is a hypothetical question, thanks for pointing to this. Too bad people here don't like hypothetical questions. By the way, do you have a theory on this one?

    temptation of Jesus

Hi, no, I don't interpret your post that way. But I disagree with you saying that "what if" type of questions are not good questions in this case. We all ask ourselves "what if Adam and Eve did not listen to the serpent". Or other questions that at first seem to have obvious answers.

I don't see the mechanism of why it would be the way you say. See my first post: Can God change?

    temptation of Jesus

I have a feeling that most of you prefer not to ask questions and not to resolve riddles. That's fine. If you are comfortable where you are, then it's fine with me.
