  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Is premarital sex wrong?

This could be from many things, though. I would contend that there are simply more couples living together before marriage, and therefore the divorce rate of those would naturally be higher than those that still stick to the old ways of not living together. Also, a lot of those that start...

    Is premarital sex wrong?

Yeah, I said this a page or so ago. It's the story of Onan. It's in Genesis.

Um... Yes, actually it does have an effect on interstate commerce. If people are going to another state to get abortions, that's interstate commerce. They're paying to have them done (or their insurance companies are, etc). Also, I never said I wanted the federal government regulating...

    Is premarital sex wrong?

I'm not sure I remember the part of the Bible where God says masturbation is sexually immoral. Enlighten me.

    Is premarital sex wrong?

Well, since everyone else is taking that statement seriously, I guess I will too. First off, you're disreguarding Christ dying for our sins on the cross. By saying you go to hell for masturbating you're effectively spitting in Christ's face and saying the sacrifice he made meant nothing...

    Is premarital sex wrong?

Please tell me you're joking. I can't even glorify this with any more of a response.....

Why would this only be a state problem? If one state decided that it didn't want abortion and another did, then people would just be crossing the lines to get one. Because of that, this deals with interstate issues, it's probably best served by the federal government rather than each state.

Which of these is the worst evil or wrong?

I would say we live in two different realms, really, so in my opinion there would be two different 'most evil' things. As for the physical realm, I'd say that genocide would probably be the most evil thing. The other realm we live in, should you choose to believe it, would be the spiritual...

    Is premarital sex wrong?

I am also partially in this boat. The OT rules about premarital sex did make a lot of sense for the time period. For one there was the monetary value placed on the woman. Another thing is STDs. There were no ways of fighting that back then, and so saying that you shouldn't have premarital sex...

    Pro-Aborts Commit Violence Too

There are a few things one needs in order to make a choice. That is that they need the logical side of the brain in order to weigh the decisions, and they also need the right side of the brain for the sense of self. Without these two things interacting, nothing has made a choice. You can't ask...

Have traditional Christian gender roles driven you away from Christianity?

And who's to say he'd even get treatment? You should probably take off those rose tinted glasses and look at the people we're talking about. We're talking about people who would abuse their wives. These are not loving people. They don't care about the wife at all. Do you really think they'd just...

Have traditional Christian gender roles driven you away from Christianity?

Even though I'm new, I'm just going to jump right in here: JesusWalks78, it's funny that you only quoted Ephesians 5 through verse 24. I think you're missing some rather important things after that: 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and handed himself over for her...
