  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Genetically Perfect?

I think the more interesting question is, if Adam and Eve are "genetically perfect", what was their skin color? What is the melanin level of someone that is "genetically perfect". I always found it funny how Adam and Eve are always depicted as white, so is white skin the sign of genetic...

    Evolution in action

I, for one, would love to see this experiment happen, seeing how dogs and cats have a common ancestor millions of years back. It would really be a great test for evolution if they could interbreed. Of course, the important point is you're showing how little you understand science by saying a...

Simple question for the ID proponents

Well by determining if the science discovered contradicts a literal reading of the Bible. If it does contradict the Bible, it's not a "true science." If it supports the Bible, it is "true science". Duh.

Theistic Evolution - what is it?

Lucky for you, I'm also a math major. Funny that your comment shows that you also don't understand math if you think that's a proof. That's just probability with large state spaces and single events. All your probability math is based on flawed premises. According to mathematics, events with...

Theistic Evolution - what is it?

Please, show me this "mathematical impossibility". Sounds like magic hand waving. As for me, I know from experience that allele frequencies in a gene pool change over generations. I observe it in my family history just by observing the different hair color in my parent's and my grandparent's...

Theistic Evolution - what is it?

Well, mathematics isn't science, but a source of knowledge. However, I lump it all together because I accept science just as I accept mathematics. And regardless of my religious views, I accept both as a valid source of knowledge. You just proved me point. Do you accept the scientific...

Theistic Evolution - what is it?

This is probably the best answer. I don't consider myself a theistic evolutionist any more than I consider myself a theistic gravitationist or theistic mathematician. Basically, it boils down to this. You have people that accept science and the scientific method as a way to explain natural...

    Evolution as conspiracy

Isn't it depressing that until I got to the law of gravity part, I thought you were serious?

    just a quick question

So you think that one of the most well respected Christian universities in the nation is lying in order to survive? That they would release a statement they do not believe in just to be able to continue teaching? Personally, I would have no respect for liars like that. Good thing you're...

    just a quick question

While this isn't an official stance from the higher ups of the Baptist community, Baylor University, a very well respected Baptist university released this statement: "Evolution, a foundational principle of modern biology, is supported by overwhelming scientific evidence and is accepted by the...

"What good is half a wing?"

That's all fine and dandy, but all it does is open new problems. For example, what good is a quarter of a wing?

Ahhh Science... we bow before thy mighty mind...

Well, I zealously defend that .99999~== 1 and 1+1=2, so I guess I worship math. I would've never guessed that I've been praying to the false idol of calculus and number theory.

Evolution by natural selection a mere theory?

No, I would say he's wrong on his terminology and definitions. Science doesn't deal with proofs. Proofs are for math and alcohol. Theories are about as good as you get in science. That's why we still have atomic theory, theory of gravity, and germ theory. To call it a "mere" theory shows...

A age devoid of poetic imagination

This may be strange, but I completely agree with you. It really isn't about winning and losing, but about educating people. That's why I'm here. I try to correct incorrect statements, and occasionally, have of ribbing at another person in jest.

    Can anything change your mind?

Just wondering, what science field do you study?
