  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Works Salvation is False

"evangelization has been a desperate race to save as many souls as possible from God" No it's a desperate race to save people from the consequences of rejecting the salvation bought for every believer at great cost on the cross. Actually hell won't be that bad. With each person's due...

1 John 2:19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

You are reading a lot into the "salted with fire" verse that isn't clearly there. Also the so-called "universalist verses" are based on ignoring the context of those to whom passage was addressed to. All in most cases means all of them, not all of humanity.

Losing the fear of an eternal hell

Does eternal punishment necessarily have to be infinite punishment, which would be unjust in relation to the less-than- infinite amount of sin any person could ever commit? Suppose Hitler is allocated X units of suffering in Hell for all his crimes against humanity. He gets half of it spread...

How ironclad is the "life begins at conception" doctrine?

"they consider a calf fetus to be a parasite until it can be independent enough to live on its own. By 'live' they mean able to walk and eat on its own. Otherwise, it's not a 'viable' life." My father was a veterinarian and he bred cattle for milk and meat for the large family. I raised some...

    My Personalized Prayer

Thank you for the feedback. It helps my thinking on this topic. For what it's worth, I'm not suggesting that "set" prayers are the only way to pray, or are the only way I do pray. However I find this prayer is a helpful way of committing myself to the Lord every day. This prayer is not static...

    My Personalized Prayer

How do you pray? Some people like to pray in a way that is spontaneous and very conversational. Others like to pray using some kind of set prayers, pretty much word for word, which others may also use. For example, they may pray the “Lord’s Prayer” that we see in Matthew 6:9-13. Some people like...

    THE THREE WORLDS OF EVANGELICALISM

I've been there too. It was a problem in regard to false teaching about money by a pastor who had a very overoptimistic church building project. However using a Strong's concordance back in the 70s, I found that the problem was with the preacher, not the Bible. I've been on a journey of growth...

    THE THREE WORLDS OF EVANGELICALISM

Here's an example of how embracing the secular agendas work. It's a review of a recent book promoting that perspective: Winsome Persuasion: Christian Influence in a Post-Christian World by Tim Muehlhoff | Goodreads
