  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Against The Doctrine of Satan

However, if God didn't create Satan, then God isn't responsible for the creation of all things because one thing (Satan) he didn't create. Neither does that explain Satan's beef with God or what he has to do with us. Considering the nature of the book of the Revelation, I doubt that was...

Genesis, Zen, and Quantum Physics: The Quantum Translation of Genesis

I, for one, don't really care for that. I just want to hear thoughts on the translation, not its authors.

Genesis, Zen, and Quantum Physics: The Quantum Translation of Genesis

Both, actually. I like it because it is different but I'm sharing it primarily to show how different our translation of the first three chapters are from the original Hebrew.

Genesis, Zen, and Quantum Physics: The Quantum Translation of Genesis

One of the things that I like is the capitalization of "Beginning", making it an actual entity as opposed to just a temporal setting and how the Powers act as not only creative agents but as the very source of all exist within the Beginning (note the lack of capitalization in the first verse for...

Genesis, Zen, and Quantum Physics: The Quantum Translation of Genesis

Here is the translation of Genesis based on Ancient Hebrew according to the research of Jeff A. Benner and Michael Calpino: A very interesting translation.

    The God of Balance?

Actually, you're kind of exaggerating the point. Righteousness and unrighteousness, holy and unholy, don't fit within the theme of what we're talking because neither "righteousness" or "holy" have definitive opposites but are rather abstract terms. For example, righteousness come from the...

What do you think about "Heaven is for Real", the book and new movie?

Except that that means that article itself has no consensus as to what Sheol actually means. However, in the article concerning Gehenna, the word sheol never pops up so I would like to ask why you translated the word "hell" as sheol when the article itself never does that? If you cannot...

What do you think about "Heaven is for Real", the book and new movie?

Actually, it matters a lot. Since these beliefs began after the Exile, then there's a chance that they were born from pagan influence or as a result of a changing in the Hebrew faith. This would refute Hell and Heaven as a being doctrines of divine inspiration. Furthermore, you are also...

    Against The Doctrine of Satan

But power over what exactly? And how much glory does a chief angel need? Furthermore, why would he have such desires? God's will is done in Heaven so for an angel to be rebellious or desire something other than God's will is contrary to that. Wait, are you saying that Satan is a god...

    Against The Doctrine of Satan

Don't worry, I'm pretty sure that there's still a Hell... Thanks for the back- up. I've already addressed that in earlier posts. What do you mean "distinct sentient being"? All angels are distinct sentient beings. However, if you are implying that Satan is in rebellion against...

    The God of Balance?

That's a nice way of putting it actually. I think you guys misinterpreted the post. There is another website "mountainretreatorg.net" that backs that up. I like what the writer says here: Now the actually word for morally evil is:

    The God of Balance?

I found this in the ancient-hebrew.org website: I find this quite interesting and even enlightening. If what this is suggesting is right then the problem of evil becomes less of a problem. Evil exists because Good exists and you can't have one without the other (or, rather, there is no such...

The only begotten Son of God

Word of advice, man, you can't just quote a bunch of scripture and then say that it all supports your view. You have to have some form of logic so that we can reach the same conclusion as you.

What do you think about "Heaven is for Real", the book and new movie?

You are arguing that people can see or go to heaven after they die. I'm saying that the Bible says otherwise. No, the Jews in the OT didn't believe in Hell: The concept of Heaven and Hell wouldn't appear until after the Exile. Give me a pre- Exilic writing that says that people...
